I've used Edge and Align blades on my Trex. I've used Rails on my Goblin.

The new Align blades are getting really good reviews.

The Edge blades were a bit noisier than the Aligns (old style). I don't know if I saw enough performance difference to justify the additional cost.

The Rails on my Goblin are fantastic, but I've never flown a set on my Trex.

I've flown the Align blades, and I have a set of Revolution blades on it now that I really like. Haven't tried any of the others due to their cost.

For my 500, I have used Revolution, Rail, Radix, and Edge. I didn't care for the feel of the Edge blades and didn't get much time on the Radix, but seemed good for what little flying I got on them. I currently use Rail on all my heli's and love them. For my 500, I would be just as happy with either the Rail or Revolution blades, but currently using Rail and love them.

As a side note, Rail blades is the first brand that I have found where I installed them on all my heli's to include my 130x.

Speaking as someone that could be persuaded to spend more on blades, what is it that makes the rails worth the 50% price hike?

Simple, they fly great. The feel is great and have a crisp feel. I have flown around 4 brands on each of my heli's. For my 450, the Aligns work well, but didn't care for them on my bigger birds. I wouldn't pay the price unless I thought it was worth it. It is the difference between it gets it up in the air compared to having the pop and feel that helps it fly great.

Now the second part. If you are just sport flying, you won't notice much, if any difference. If you are throwing it around, then you start to notice more things going on.

The opposite. . Rails are actually some of the more quieter blades being sold. .Take note of the tips / ends of rail blades. . Made this way so they track better. . Better tracking blades don't blade fart in aggressive flight.

Blade farts I.E Noisy blades is nothing more then wasted energy.

I have tried many-many different brand blades. . I have yet to find anything better then Rails. . -JMO-

If any help, I run EDGE mains & tail blades on every heli I own from my 500 Pro DFC down to my 450 Pro DFC & even my 2 older Mini Titan V1's that have been converted to FBL, mainly because they work great on all of them. Easy to see & only make a little noise when loaded up pretty hard.

I recently switched from the new Align 700's to Rail 696's on my Gob 700, and WOW what a difference. Much more stable, more pop, and quieter. I'm using nothing but Rails from now on.

If the rumors are to be believed, edge blades has closed up shop. So they may not be an option for long

RJX FBL blades are pretty freakin nice on the 500 DFC, and only about $10-15 more than Align blades.
