Default Eagle Tree RPM setup help

Hey all, just got an EagleTree V3 along with the RPM sensor. I'm getting some weird readings and must be setting something up incorrectly. I've attached a graph in hopes that someone can steer me straight. In the calibration menu i've set it to brushless rpm sensor using 8 poles with an 11.77 gear ratio.

Any ideas?

Are you tapping into just one motor lead, or two? Sometimes you need to use both sensor wires to get consistent data. Any two motor wires will do.

I tried just one. The way I understood it from the instructions is that it wouldn't read anything if you needed to connect the second one. I'll go ahead and try with two and see how that works out.
