I have printed a few heli parts. Skids for my micro helis are pretty easy to print and I have also made a few tail fins. Unfortunately my M3D printer just can't do the quality I need for much else.

I have started dabbling now in doing 3D printed parts for heli's. Pretty fun!
Gov sensor mount (printed in steel): Goblin 700 FBL mount and satt mount: 570 FBL mount, same idea:

I do
I'm just getting into 3d printing (3 months in) so I can't say I've printed out any heli parts yet. I've done other stuff like Tablet stand and others. I think my next project will be printing out these T40 legs.
https://pinshape.com/items/13905-3d-...-rc-helicopter Will definitely let you know how it turns out. Has anyone already printed these? |

I have printed a few small brackets, but nothing to big, using PLA, extruder @ 210*, table 70*. Getting some decent prints. Anyone else using PLA?

The lipo mount I posted above is PLA with R11.

See my thread here:

Just printed out an extra battery tray for my Gaui X3...
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1530793 It fits perfectly and slides in just like the original. Not too tight, and not too loose... just perfectly snug.

I printed an entirely new body for my 200qx quad. I had always meant to, but when I broke one of the stock arms in a carsh the entire stock body was useless. so I downloaded one off Thingmaker and printed it on my Printrbot. This one has foldable arms so it packs up much smaller for travel.
After awhile I also printed some legs for it, since I got tired of dinging the blades on the pavement every time I had a rough take off in wind. |

I actually bought my 3D printer with plans of making parts for the 1/12 Scale MI24 Hind I am building. I have used it to make bulkheads, servo plates etc. I didn't think about making parts such as the tail housing as shown above, but that gets the mind spinning.
I print PLA, ABS and Nylon so there is a range of strengths and flexablility. My unit is the cheap Hobby King Print-rite unit. With tuning and setup it works just fine. |
