Help- forward is reverse
Total newbie here....I've been flying the SR 120 and have just added a Trex 450 SE I got used (built by someone else). It looks like its never been flown. I set up the radio and spun it up where it immediately moved hard left and caused a main rotor strike. I tried it again and see now that when I use the cyclic left is right and forward is reverse. I don't think the servos need to be revered, I tried that and the two servos on the front pull down and up together, i dont think thas right....Are the servos plugged into the wrong place on the receiver? Thanks for any help and sorry for the dumb questions.

From an SR to a Trex is a big jump! I seriously suggest reading the basics about eccpm and how to set up the servos for 120 deg. swashplate control. Since you are a newbie, you most likely have several things wrong with your setup and without knowing the basics, it will be hard to help you troubleshoot your problem.

Check out finless' section on ccpm setup. It sounds like the servo reversing is correct, but that the swash mix values in the transmitter for ail and ele need to be opposite of what they are now. Check out that section and you will be up and running before you know it.

+1 sharpblue4d. Its the transmitter setup that is wrong not the servos, anyway check up the correct position of each servo plug in the receiver.

If left is right just invert your Aileron swash mix value.
ie; if it's at +60 change it to -60 .... or if it's -60 change it to +60 Same goes for Elevator swash mix value if forward stick tilts the swash back. Same goes for Pitch swash value if full collective gives you negative pitch. It's just that easy.

Thank you. For a beginner what should those swash values be?
And what do the arrows next to the numbers mean? I have a DX6i with the trex 450 SE |

The swash values correspond to the collective pitch and the cyclic pitch. The values in the transmitter are not as important as the actual pitch values. Focus on getting the pitch settings correct and the swash mix settings will be what they will be. Setup tips and information is a great section for beginners that can guide you in the right direction. I'm not trying to push you somewhere else but every question answered will spawn another. There is quite a lot to learn in the beginning and it will help dramatically to soak up as much info from there as you can. For a beginner you can setup your collective pitch to + 9 -9 and your cyclic to 6 deg. You can even go further by setting dual rates as well as expo and very gradual pitch curves. All the above can really tame the controls down and make learning easier. Setup is by far the most important part of flying
