Default LED wiring problem

Hello all

I am soon to wire up a lighting system for the Walkera Ladybird and i will be using two LED's one for the front and one for the rear.

I am unsure whether to wire them in series or parallel although i am sure i would need to put a resistor on the positve supply before the first LED as they both operate at different voltages.

The 3mm red LED operates from 1.8v - 2.2v but the 3mm blue LED operates from 3.2v - 3.8v so i am not sure whether i would need a resistor because of the lower voltage red LED.

Also if i did put in a resistor to compensate for the lower voltage i guess the blue LED would not be as bright as it would be receiving less power.

Thank you

Dave

What is your power source? Are you going to tap into the flight pack or use a separate tiny lipo? I think you should just use the flight pack to avoid unnecessary weight. 3 leds shouldnt affect flight time too much.

Either way the best thing to do is wire the leds in parallel. Your source voltage will be 4.2v. Use this to calculate resistor values:

I'm not sure it matters what side of the led has the resistor.
