At the end of the flight I unplug the antispark connector first and verify the BUG is still working (servos still working and TX alarming for low RX voltage / BEC failure), then I switch the BUG off.

I've also powered the electronics many times on the bench for testing & FBL setup using a 4 cell NIMH pack and the ESC/BEC are connected during that time.

Through all of this the Mezon has had zero problems. Doesn't mean that I shouldn't be powering things up and down this way, but doing so has yet to cause the Mezon BEC to fail.

If there's one happy note in the BEC failure be glad the Mezon BEC failed by simply doing dead (no output) rather than delivering full main pack voltage to the electronics.
I followed this same method with a Mezon 130 and a Mezon 90. Never any issues with SBUG.

Default Mezon BEC failure.

Sent mine back to jeti a while ago but not heard anything yet.

Does seem it was a freak occurrence if people are happily using the bug.

Just to close this up...

Yesterday I finally got a replacement ESC back... I have to admit I am slightly disappointed in the speed of Jeti's customer service, and it did require yet another email after being promised it would ship a couple of weeks ago. I can't fault them in the big picture as I now have a replacement ESC with no argument their end.

So while they are much slower than dealing with Kontronik, YGE or Castle directly (and I mean much slower... emails alone typically took 1 week to respond to) they did reply to all emails eventually and after a couple of months I have ended up with a replacement. In future though I'll stick to buying from UK sellers as I'd rather be able to send it back to them than Jeti if anything else goes wrong lol.

So I'm back to being fairly happy with my recent investment into the Jeti brand at least, hopefully this ESC survives a bit longer than the last...
