Talking Testing Agile 5.5 with Scorpion 4525-520 Ultimate on 6S and X2 12S 5000mAh packs.

Hi guys

Today I had the opportunity to test the Scorpion 4525-520KV Ultimate on the 5.5.

The test was made running a single 6S 5000mAh pack and X2 5000mAh 12S pack with the stock gearing.

This is the only 550 size helicopter on the market capable to run 700 size setups, the performance is just incredible, you can get over 10 minutes of flight running a single pack or massive torque on 12S.

Next test will be with X2 2600-3000mAh packs.

Hope you guys enjoy the videos.

What is the weight with 2x5000 packs and that motor?

Seems a bit overkill for a 550 :-)

Btw.
Nice flying, but it's like the same 5 manoeuvres just repeated and repeated.
Kinda boring at the end :-)

So the 5.5 frame is the same size as the big brother?

'Hi Nelson,

I had the opportunity to meet you while you were in Tortuguero, PR. I fell in love with the 7.2.

Didn't realize there was a 5.5 until recently and that's what I'm going for.

I have the servos from a TRex550 I just received a Scorpion HKIII-4020-1100KV. For ESC I have a spare Castle Creations ICE 100 (8S LIPO 34V Max. 5A BEC)

Will this ESC work? I'm not a 3D flyer. Maybe an occasional loop/roll/flip.

Hi otavon, your setup will work well, I'm planning to visit the island again soon

So I could fly this helio with a Castle 160 and KDE 700xf-496 with a 6s5000mah and I should get around 10 mins of flight with a head speed of around 1300 ?

The Scorpion 4525-520KV Ultimate barely peaks 90A on my 7.2 on 6S with 713mm blades, I fly it for around 7-8 minutes doing soft 3D.

On the 5.5 to run that motor an 80A esc will be good on 6S for sport fly on a low KV motor, the 160A is going to be a massive add of weight, 105mm tail blades works the best for low head speed.

I recommend to run a motor no lower than 520KV and a 100% TC flat curve if you want to try this setup, is cool to fly around, you need to be carefully on the collective.

Did you notice any wobbling or other problems on 5.5? Especially with lower headspeeds? Also, how is the tail performing with so low headspeed? This model has unusually low tail gear ratio (3.86:1) and I'm a little bit worried about the tail...
