That would be cool but I doubt they will because of the extra weight of a fourstroke. It would be great for scale models.

Many years back there where a fair amount of helis that had 4 stroke options or came setup for 4 stroke.Century had theres for the OS 52 surpass,Kyosho has the same for there heli and Xcell made a 4 stoke version of the 60 size bird for the YS91 4 stroke. There where more but that is what I can remember the best presently.
I still think OS 15G in the N640 is the ticket !!

I have seen a 4 stroke heli fly at my field. Interesting sound, but if im not mistaken, that was about it, lol, seemed more like a novelty item.

I would like to put my order in for a 30 size helicopter that is not the same size as a 50. Just with a shorter boom and blades. The Gaui NX4 is a great helicopter that does anything you want with a 37 in it. And burns a lot less fuel. The NX4 needs some competition. I think a small radical running a 30 size engine would just about make the perfect helicopter for a lot of us that like to run engines but like the cost savings of the 30 engines.

I agree, a little Radikal 550 or something would be great.....From what I understand Century has discontinued the Swift series (or going to), I can only speculate they are coming out with an alternative. They have the N and E 640's, maybe the N and E 550's?

I have the Swift 550NX, good little machine, but being a smaller heli with a lot of power it is easy to get too far very quickly...I like to do a lot of high speed stuff with the 90, so when I switch over to the little swift I have to remember I cannot fly as far, lol.

I know the 700 field is crowded, but I would go for a 640 stretched to a 700. Would need widen the frame for more battery options as well.

I would be sold on a Radikal e550. The e620 costs too much from the electronics standpoint as well as wiring complexity of running series packs. That's exactly why I like 550's so much better.

I can just imagine having a removable battery tray with 1P. It would just wire up so nicely, never removing the canopy, except during inspection.

Yea the swift line was great... one pack... easy set up plent of power...

Century is heavy in the quad and UAV market as well as the last push of gas they invested a lot of resources developing. I think the plant cant keep up with the quad item demands.

From the inside I just don't see too much movement on new helicopter projects.

Myself, I would love to see a E550, a new nitro 550. Even if they made a Radical 550 would be nice.

I agree with the above post, I think Century is dropping everything else except for the quads and radical line.. it's a shame. too bad that Century doesn't listen to it's customer base. I guess it's time to start looking at different companies that accually care about their customers.

I would have thought having to deal with a battery tray on the E640 would be a pain as well. But it really isnt that bad at all.

Handling one lipo on the swift is easier for sure, but the E640 setup doesnt take much longer. Tray slides in really smooth, put the pins in so it wont fall out, and pull the wires out from the large openings in the middle. It really isnt that bad and takes 30 seconds at the most.

I would like to see them come out with a replacement for the swift though, and I am sure they will. But the E640 and N640 are in my books as being such strong winners, for the first time in the last 12 years of flying, I now have a heli(s) that are smaller then a 90 which I actually enjoy flying!

I see you are like most who get a great performing 90 nitro/700 size heli. You get spoiled and then the other sizes loose their attraction.

I have to agree on your assessment of the E640 & N640 helis...they really do fly like they are 90/700's.

Agree. However there is no advantage to the E640 over a 700, initial kit cost aside. Blade choices are less, battery choices fewer. You will spend about the same for every thing else. I love my e640. It is my most reliable, smoothest flying heli. I'd still own it if Century had a 700. But I'm looking for a 700 now. Epic and TSA are now at the top of the list for me. Wish Century had something to offer in that size.

Which one do you think you'll end up getting distructor, epic or tsa?

you could always stretch the E640 using the G30 boom, torque tube, and grips (to fit the larger blades). I'm sure that would work just fine!

My 90 is currently down waiting for parts. So I am in the process of charging up to head out with the 640's

I particularly like the selectable tail grear ratios of the epic but still a little gun shy of the DFC style head. IMHO the epic has the edge.

The optional tail gear ratio is a nice feature that more company's need to look at.The new Synergy E7SE and the E5 have that option also. Not every wants to run at crazy high headspeeds and some company's are realizing it.

That is pretty sad new unless you like flying fixed pitch bugs around Ha Ha
Maybe that explains why we cannot get a 11 tooth slant pinion for the E640 line.
