Ramped up the tail gain again, and the small shutter I've gotten used to during hard collective stops was gone. I might have to get a DS95i later but the price tag and weight bugs me, 3 times the DS76T weight and about 4 times on the price...

Maybe just a KST 215? A DS95i sounds like overkill to me.

Yes, a bit overkill for a 3D beater... but still to have the 0.03s speed that the DS76T delivers, the only one I've found that have similar performance is DS95i...

KST215 is ~0.06s like the DS480 but weighs like a whale compared to it...

And the reason I got the stock tail servo again was to try how it worked and the slower makes it hard as <beep> to get to work great!

Nothing beats a 95i for a micro tail but if you want to save money get a Kst 215/tgy 306 and switch out the gears to the mks ones...it makes it slightly faster and more durable!

Default Finally, All Done

Well, the little guy has been on the work bench for over a month waiting on the mechanic to show up and finish the job he started. As it goes...I had the time today to get everything done and ready for the maiden fight. It ought to be a hoss with the Lynx frame, stretch kit , 420 motor, and a 35a esc w/ 5 bec. built in. He is heavy in the hand but I believe it`ll do just fine. I have 5 of the 1350mah 11.1`s to use on her and hope to get 3 maybe 4 minutes of fight time. We will see as soon as mom n gets thru blowing her hair . Anyway, here are a few pics of her all done, well mabe not,....somethings amiss...getting a security cookie prob...get em up later guys

Made the Lynx OWB fit my MH frame with a Dremel so now its back on...

I also decided to give it some love after being neglected for a while, new KST215 servos for the cyclic, Lynx swash and a Lynx canopy (oxy3 colors)...

The servos feels like they will be on the heavy side, the DS470 I use now is like 9,5 grams, less than half the weight of the KSTs...

Last couple days began to work on getting 300x up and running. Moved ar7200 gyro to the upper platform behind servos. Reset 11 tooth steel pinion as it had twisted to one side of the motor shafts flat spot, during the crash that stripped several main gear teeth. Re-mounted P2632 motor, set gear mesh, hot glued plastic shim between servos for frame bracing, installed new YEP30 speed control, connected all plugs to the gyro, zip-tied excess wire, mounted head/blade grips, centered servos with arms at 90* degrees, connected all head links. Now pre-reading gyro manual and looking at instruction videos before beginning setup. I tend to be slow and methodical in trying to do things carefully.

Good luck with the OWB and let us know if it works well on the MH frame. I still have a MH frame new in box.

Amazing how slow the 300x forum is now compared to one year ago. I guess the ones that remain excited about helis in the dead of winter have moved to 300cfx and 180cfx threads.

Some of us are still here, would rather get a lynx frame for my 300x then get a 300cfx! Just not been able to fly for a few weeks due to constant high winds - hopefully friday might be a go if the forecast is right - big IF though!

Still here. My 300x flys great with the robird setup. Hands off hover, no problems.Bad or just plain cold, drizly foggy weather has kept me off the big field, but it flys great in my yard. Work or family stuff seems to take my time when the weather is great. Dang. Tired of close in figure eights in my court and flying under the maple tree branches, head in hover, etc.

NEED SOME BIG SKY!

I'm guessing Oxy-3 is pulling its share of users in the forum...

The OWB fits and runs smooth, just have to pull out the main shaft "collar" and take of a mm from the top, sand to smooth the edges and you are go... It was just a tad to tall to fit for me...

To windy and cold to fly... just keep on spending some $$ got a 570 to finish and I will probably have to get a 380 too... +1 Uriah... need more Money!!

Same here. I was going to buy parts for my 300x with my Christmas money, but I hardly ever fly it and I needed/wanted to update my phone that I use daily. So, I've done absolutely NOTHING with my 300x for the past couple of months.
Weather has not ben cooperating for our Wednesday club.

It was the 180 that got me to sell my 300. I wanted the 130 for my back yard bird to begin with but it just seemed too problematic so I went with the 300. Now that the 180 is so well received it seemed like a no brainer.

I really liked my 300 but it just seems like an oddball size to me. For my skill level it is too big to really ring out in a yard and too small to make use of a field. So I got a 180 for my yard and a X3 for when I go somewhere with more room.

Since you mentioned it I took a look at the Oxy-3 on their site for the first time. My first impression is the canopy looks like a hiking boot. Sounds like it must be a good performer though.

I'll remember your tip about trimming the collar on the OWB.

Wow, Dad picked up for me a set of Blade's aluminum tail-boom supports to fix the broken ones on my 300x. So, today I replaced broken ones with the upgraded ones.

That's a good point, but for me it's the perfect size. It's just small enough for small areas to fly but flies big enough at the LHS field. For any bigger fields i use my x3 and the 300x doesn't fly much. I love the size as its small enough to fly in lots of places and practice on, but powerful enough for big air and hard 3d, when in a better space.

LOL, when you say it it kind of does... cant say that I like the stock shape of the 300x either, I run 100% protos style canopies on mine...

I did like the coloring on the Oxy-3 enough to buy a new for my 300x with the same paint scheme...

http://www.helidirect.com/lynx-300-x...st-p-38438.hdx

Lets hope Oxy comes out with the 275 stretch really soon so Zeal goes ahead and makes blades for it, plastic is ok, but I want a carbon option that is cheaper than the 360's for my dominator...

Hiking Boot?

I think you're in the right neighborhood...

after checking the molds attached you might change your mind!

I'll probably try one, but I'd really like to see an oversized canopy option to increase the presence in the air.
