Maiden flight!

First flight with a 700 (anything bigger than a 500), first setup or flight on Vbar, no outside help (except my earlier belt noise question on this forum)... Very happy with this one!

Can't wait to do a lot more than this flight, but I think you'll agree it was pretty decent for a maiden and my first Big 'Un!

Congrats! Love the protos sound. How do you like it?

After my max explosion I was so angry I thought I'd never repair it... However after over a month I decided I'd give it another shot. And oh man I'm glad I did! You'll love this heli, even if it has some minor issues (which are not that hard to fix actually)

Love it so far. Have about 5 flights on it.

I have had the OWB locking up though... It led to a somewhat rough auto and near tipover.

I removed the pulley and checked for play... It seemed like it was setup properly and the belt tension doesn't seem crazy tight. I do have a 20T on hand so I might try swapping. Other than that, all has been great so far.

I think it has something to do with the tolerance of the motor shaft. On one motor I would get lock ups. On another wasn't as issue. So if it's chronic and swapping pinions doesn't help, may want to try another motor shaft.

After about 25 flights I had an owb problem, replaced pinion and after about another 30 or so had same again. Checked shaft and showed signs of wear on shaft. Replaced shaft and so far been good. Only about 10 flights but will keep eye on it. My old pinions/owb felt good, replaced them each time but might still be good if problem was shaft. Theyll stay in my spares box for now

There definitely were a pair of burnished spots on the motor shaft where the OWBs sit. I had trouble removing the upper bearing near the motor because there is a tiny lip on the shaft that I can't feel, but the bearing wouldn't slip over it...

Perhaps i'll look into a new shaft. Thanks.

also make sure you leave some up/down play for the pinion. I've got about 70 flights on my pinion. Never had a lock up.
