Default Warp 18t 4mm Pinion Heads up.

Don't order the 18t 4mm pinion. It is 1.3 mm larger that the stock 16t and it presses against the upper pulley creating damage.

Unless I am missing something during installation, but the motor shaft aligns into the counter bearing, so you can't even slide the motor over unless you flip the lower pulley assembly to avoid using the counter bearing.

The stock 16t 4mm has a diameter of 9.71mm
The 18t 4mm has a diameter of 11.00mm.

Can someone measure the 17mm 4mm pinion?

Why an 18t? With govd Castle you usually need 1 more pinion compared to other escs. At 18t with 24v typed in with 7.5 ratio, 3200 hs is 85% throttle. I will get the 17t if is the same diameter.

With 16t at 100% flat I had 2800 hs on the Ice 50.

Ditch the counter bearing and it should fit.

If I can fit the 17t in with the counterbearing then that's what I will use as I like the fact it has a counterbearing (imho that is quality feature). But if the 17t is still larger than the stock 16t, then I will flip the pulley assembly.

But, in the meantime, I have to get a upper pulley from Mike as mine is trashed with sharp burrs left from the pinion teeth. That assembly has such close tolerances that you can't even eyeball it to check.

When I did the first assembly with the stock 16t, I mistakenly installed the assembly with the countershaft going the wrong way, so I wasn't using the counterbearing. Then of course, when I flipped it, the motor mount screw hit the pulley. That pulley assembly is tricky. Even a layer of spray paint over the frames caused the tail belt pulley to rub slightly. I don[t think anyone can say that the warp has loose tolerances.

That is for sure, Diviner. I found everything to fit very precisely and the way it should. However, it's a bit intolerant of error or misalignment. I wound up filing the slots for the guide roller clearance a bit - by hand with a foam emery board (a tool I discovered at the onset of this project which I found superb for filing carbon edges). I like the counter bearing feature as well, butI opted to remove mine and see how it goes. I was able to get my guide roller assembly to slide freely in the frame, but not so easily that it moves precisely with the motor when the tail belt is installed. I might reinstall the counter bearing at a later date.

My thinking here is that it would be cool if the guide roller assembly could some how bolt to the motor mount so the counter bearing alignment cannot be fudged with the independent movement of the guide roller assembly and motor mount. No easy deal for sure.
