Hi I'm a bit confused. I have a thunderpower tp820cd charger which has an input criteria of 10.5v-28v 40amp max.

Found a power supplies supply dell psu's in series which delivers 1280watts 24v 47amps.

Worried that the 47amps exceeds the tp820 input max of 40amps.

Have I got this right? Will this psu option work?

The charger (like any electrical load) will only draw as many amps as it needs. The supply doesn't "push" amps, the charger only "pulls" them. The only time this is a problem is if the charger can pull *more* amps than the supply can provide, then the supply may shut down during a heavy load.

It'll be fine.
