pinion slipping

I remember seeing a thread or two about this but can't find it.

On both my T Rex 600 E and my T Rex 700 electric conversion the pinion keeps slipping on the motor shaft no matter how much I tighten the set screw on the pinion. (Does it more often on the 700) Both are Neumotor with no slot on the shaft.

Any of you guys have this problem?

With no flat spot you are going to have that problem. You have two options. Either grind a flat spot or use the green retaining locktite. If you use the locktite you will need to heat the pinion with a torch to remove it but thats not really a big deal. Good luck

Just make sure to cover the motor with something to keep shavings from getting into the motor. If you take a plastic bag and put the motor in it and poke the shaft through the bag it will keep the shavings out. Good luck
