Okay everyone, there is an exciting new development for this event! Nick Maxwell, Todd Bennett and Matt Botos will be holding a 3D clinic on Wednesday and Thursday. This is an awesome opportunity to buddy box non stop with the pros and learn how to execute those maneuvers you've always been hesitant to try on your own.

Clinic runs 9am to 5pm Wednesday and Thursday.
$400 per person, $150 deposit required to secure spot.

My wife and I went last year and the bug really bit us HARD there. We will definitely be there again this year. Watching Nick and Matt fly last year was simply AWESOME! And since we both will have our AMA cards, we'll both be flying - on the beginners' stage. lol

I'll be there! Just to watch, don't want to embarrass myself . I'm still in the hovering stage, more than flying. I don't have much time for practice.
I told my wife about this event, since one of her best friends is living in Covington and my In Laws a bit further "down the road", in Etonton. We could have an interesting family and friends get together at the event.

Hi everyone, hope you are planning to come in for what is gearing up to be an amazing weekend of flying on our second (but quickly growing) fun-fly. On behalf of the Newton County RC Fliers I’d like to welcome all of you. Regardless of where you are coming from, please be safe!

I want to quickly address the schedule for the weekend, since some of you are so lucky to start the weekend on Thursday. On Thursday 3 OCT 13, the field is open for all club members, yes as in fixed wings also. However, the priority is on the heli 3D clinic. The field is divided into a heli section and an airplane section. If there are fixed wing pilots they will be on the plane side, so the 3D clinic might have to move to the heli section of the field. If no airplane guys show up, then the field is opened to helis. All that said, I will not be out to the field until 1430 +/- and since the 3D clinic has priority over any open flying, I will ask that you seek out Matt Botos and he will make the call as to whether to open the field or not.

Rest of the schedule is simple, Friday and Saturday the field is ours. We will be safe and make it a memorable weekend. If you have night flying gear bring that also. Oh yea, almost forgot, there will be Continental style breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday. Lunch is included for all registered pilots on Saturday. Hope to see you all there!

I went to this event on Saturday. If you missed it you missed out. Be sure to go next year. Compass, Synergy and others had banners flying as well as pilots who were amazing and very approachable. Got to stand next to Scott from Synergy while he was flying. He described and demonstrated several good exercises for me, a beginner, as well as some tuning methods to try on my heli.

Really enjoyed it. Thanks and kudos to those who put it together!
