I have a set of BLS 451's you can not move the servo only when hooked up to power and it is very smooth m Is this ok to use ??? thanks John

They have strong metal gears so they should be ok. I have several sets that have been through lots of crashes and they are never damages.
　
In general you don't want to turn a servo by the control horn. Gears can be damaged that way. If you want to test the gears connect them to a receiver and power up. Move them to the limits using the radio while applying some pressure to the control horn. You will be able to feel if the gears are damaged. If they are very high time servos you may want to remove, clean, inspect, and lubricate the gears.
