Funny, I just checked their site 6 hours ago for this exact thing. Guess I'll be flying today afterall!!

FYI, I'm downloading it at a remarkable 5kb/s.

Busy downloading at a much higher speed, 7.8kb/s

Guess I'll be updating and setting up my two 450's today and test flying them tomorrow.

Any description of the updates ?

Seems to come down as two programs with two new icons on the desk top.

3G v3.0 and v3.0 update.

What's the process then?

3G first and then update it?

Does this make me the first to test.... well..... When i say test. I just came in from flying the 450 and found this post. I still had a tiny bit of juice in the battery so i downloaded this and did the update and used my tiny little bit of remaining battery. I have always had a bad tail with a bounce on the stop from a left piro, guess what its gone. It is now totaly crisp. stop on the right doesnt bounce either but isnt so abrupt and crisp it is much softer but i think turning up the gain might fix it. I did a quick tic toc and the cyclic feels better. Then my battery died so now just recaraging Align... Thank you! lol Theey have now changed my system to be almost problem freee and i loved it before anyway!
yey

Good to hear.

If I get the updates into my two 450's with enough daylight still available, I'll give it a try later today.

I'm using 'Coolice's' settings and very happy with it in my 450's - what settings did you use, the stock settings that come with the software?

Should I do the updates, DIR set-up, tail set-up, and then load 'Coolice's' settings again ?

One problem I noticed is gain adjustment through the pots.
Gain on the previous (V2) 3G link software appeared as a value between 0 and 120 (if I remember correctly).
Now on the new software cyclic gains are 0-200 and with the pots at 12 o'clock and with default settings I am getting a calculated gain of 200 on both. I have to lower the pots a lot in order to start seeing lower gains on the PC. So much for gain resolution through the pots...
I tried reinstalling the firmware to double check, but it didn't solve anything.

However, I did a quick flight with the cyclic gains setup at ~130 (through software) and my TREX 450 pro did fly a bit better than with the previous firmware. The tail was noticeably better, no unexpected blowouts, although I am still trying to find a way to eliminate the noticeable tail drift I get on hard pitch pumps. Maybe I will increase the rudder gain and drop the lock gain a bit.

It is interesting to hear if anyone else has the same problem with the pots positions as I do.

1004ron, I'm in a similar situation as you. My T-Rex 500 flies pretty well after lots of settings adjustment and I would avoid repeating the whole story. But according to what I saw on the new PC interface, the parameters are the same.

I guess some algorithms were optimized, but are based on the same parameters, so our best previous settings remain the same, I hope so...

Someone else tried it in real ?? I guess that you, benjbrit123, you used your own settings.

Hey buddy.

I'm eager to try the update with my current settings file written to the 3G as before, that way I'll be able to see and feel any benefits, which from reading the Align V3.0 page there should be better flight performance.

Keep us updated as to if you also try my settings alongside the V3 firmware.
