Snap Ring/Retaining Ring/Safety Ring
Whatever you call it.. Are you guys just using the ones from mikado? Or any in the right size (10mm for my 600)? I don't like to reuse them too many times as they can start to stretch.
I was gonna see if the local hardware store had some stainless ones? What do you guys think?

I just use the stock ones, and replace them when in replace the main shaft as they come with a new one.

Do you see a problem using a different one? I assume they are all pretty similar in there specifications..

It's just a clip to keep the maingear from falling off the end shaft when the pinion isn't engaged. I actually had a setscrew fly out of the pinion on my heli once and the main gear held the pinion on the motor shaft. Sure it spun and didn't actually transmit any power, but it stayed on there.
I can't figure out why you would want a stainless steel clip. Like screws, there are standards for all these things and I imagine you could probably buy a box of 100 clips somewhere for a few bucks that would meet the same standards and fit just fine. Sourcing that box of clips might be more work than it is worth though. Sometimes, metric stuff can be hard to source in the US.

The place up the street has much more of the metric stiff in stainless, so I assume that's all they will have...

Yes, the 690 don't take a c clip.
In the manual it shows it but on reallity there is no space for it.
