Default New 550 to 600 frame.. HEX50!

HEX50, is the own designed frameset. optimised for use with HV powerystems, and for flybarless, (resolution in VBAR is 100/100!! for 12.5 pitch and 8 cyclic, Beastx has the blue light at 5 degrees or 6 degrees with optional longer servohorn and bellcranks.

Frame will take any setup in HV, ranging from packs from 950 grams to 1350 grams(that equals 12s 2650 to 4000 with 600 blades and tail, maximum 1150 grams with 550 tail.). 6s setups also possible with 2 6s packs parralel.
Motors that can be used are the stock aligns, or the 40XX scorpion/hyperion.

Design will change a little, servos will lay flat to get more room for the ESC.
Its very light, with 2650mAh packs, the heli only weighs 3.55kg, with 3800 packs(1300 grams), the heli weighs 3.85kg, and it feels anything but heavy!

Those who are interested may send me a PM.... and i'll see what i can do.

(picture shows 12s 3800mAh Gens ace.. still 1 cm forward in the battery tray)

Been waiting to see some actual pictures up close, the little comment droping here and there kept my anticipation up. Reminds me a little about a frame I had seen about 2 months ago (http://www.helituning.com/index.php/...0e-frames.html). Yours is much better in regards to the battery location and options to use some high capacity packs. I might be interested, but would like to know how much stuff from a 550e frame portion is new and is it provided or does it need to be purchased seperatly?

Guessing from the looks of it one would need at least:
- New servo arms
- Servo linkage
- Servo levers

Everything is included in a kit to convert the 550 into this machine bellcranks and its holders are custom made. not an off the shelf part (they are 5mm thickness, will NEVER break!, and yes, i tested that.. LOL), Links are included, balls are included, elevator servo arm(for futaba/savox,align/mks/torq only now) is included(needs special hole distance in order to work with the bellcranks. Bolts, bearings etc, its all there.
only thing you'll need extra are 2 of those 6 armed servohorns. wich will come with the servos in a 550 kit... The bellcrank/elevator horn to swash links can be used from the 550. stock gear from 550(mod 0.7) will fit too. .

otherwise, shoot me a PM, we'll work it out.

I dont like the helituning frame.. i think its too thin at the bearingblock/motor area... that WILL flex with HV or powerfull 6s setups. .. This frame handles the 4035 just fine for the 100+ flights ive been hammering on it.

Really the only problem my frame has, as i designed out of the point of view for a HV 600, it doesnt take 6s 5000 packs. with the stock tail, 2x 2650 or 3300 or such in parralel will work tho. 3800 or 4000 will only work (and is only needed) if you use 600tail/ blades. AND: the motorshaft needs to be long enough to mount the pinion upside down(setscrew on the end of shaft.)

and approximate cost please?

because the motor is mounted on top, and there is very little room between the gear/motor it needs to be upside down.

Cost will be around 150 euros including all the hardware.

Currently modifiying the frames. will upload some pictures when the next prototype is cut.

Just send the new v3 frame to the CNC'er who's gonna cnc them for me. 45XX motors now also fit, as do the Pyro 700.

Ok, i now now 2 things
1: my frame crashes really well, even from tailslide crashes!
2: Align headblock is too weak for hard 3d flying:

Broke in flight after a tailside. I think the Jbolt broke first, leaving the head stuck on with the other half broken/bend bolt(wich was stuck in the hub too). and the head just broke away.

Made the modification.:

Threaded the mainshaft, use 1 M4x7 12.9 bolts. WAYY stronger, no chance of wobble in the headblock due to double clamping on 2 bolts, and less chance of breaking/bending the jesusbolt.

Align should go with a 3 bolt head design. 1 bolt isnt strong enough for the torque a 10/12s system has.

Have you thought about using the KDE head with 1 Jesus bolt and 2 bolts more to lock the head down?

Yep, thought about it, But since i have an own design swashdriver, i cant use the KDE head(clearance issues). On top of that, its 75usd.... Might go with the Outrage head.
