Mine is going to be cobbled together from parts unless somebody points out a show-stopping mis-step.

Pyro 800-40

Kosmik 200 of the not cool persuasion.

14S comprised of two 7S 3700s - too small but I need to use up what I have and those 3700s haven't earned their keep yet.

Servos - undetermined. Maybe BK?

I'm going to have to eventually upgrade the 7S packs but I'm OK with 2 minute flights for a time.

To be honest I'm not sure why I bought this thing - I lost my flying field and am generally switching over to 450s - but it was just so dang pretty.

That's the best reason to buy anything.

This is the best part...you don't even have to get drunk to want to take it home.
It's just that pretty.

I have a red Urukay coming from Amain.
I plan on using a scorpion HKIII 4035 450kv or 4035 500kv motor and a scorpion comander 50v 130 amp esc, which I already have.

I ordered some new Torq 9280 and 9288 hv servos and already have a Pulse 2550 2s battery and a micro beast, and a Spektrum ar9030 carbon fuse receiver.

Just need to order some 6s batts for it. This is my first Goblin, so I think all of this would work fine....

That will be fine but I think you may need a 21 tooth pinion (for 12s) depending on your target head speed and if you want to run Gov mode?

Check out page 18 of the manual.

http://www.goblin-helicopter.com/sho...ease_1.0.L.pdf

Also make sure you order 5000 - 5500mA batteries for it, also recommended on page 18.

OH YEAH BABY
What does a Urukay owner have to look forward too on every flight?...beautiful airframe, smooth flight motion and that awesome signature Urukay sound!
My 2 bladed 770 sounds like a chain saw compared to the Formula One high pitched smooth sound of my Urukay.
Awesome job Heliaxe! Great flying!
I find myself just setting a flight path just to here the sound.

Thanks Viking.

I agree. The sound alone is worth flying this machine. Love it!

Any issues with the Urukay build?

Buying one for my friend (helped me out big time) and later on for myself. Thinking of the 2 blade head and BK 8002 and 8005 hv servos.

I need help on the motor and esc. Is the quantum 4530-500kv better or can I go with the 4530-450kv?

Also, I am looking at the Kosmik 160 (not the cool) or would the jive 120hv suffice? Also will use front ESC mount.

All of this running on 12S. Stock pinion. Ikon FBL.

He is more a sport flyer/big air and no 3D. Thanks for any tips.

I wouldn't risk that expensive bird with a 120 esc.. I would use a 160 because it's a heavy bird and needs a lot to move it

i was leaning towards the Kosmik 160. Appreciate the advice.

What do you think about the quantum 500?

Would you recommend a ultraguard for the Urukay? I'll be using the Kosmik 160 with the Quantum 4530-500, BK servos and stock pinion.

Or can I not use anything since the Kosmik is typically faultless (from what I read).

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

YES!!!!!! I no longer have my Urukay because of lack of Ultrguard (had one on there but I probably left it on and drained the battery). Sure the BEC likely won't fail, but that doesn't prevent your battery wires coming unsoldered or breaking.

I will get one for sure. How do you wire it? I'm not familiar with how to setup a ultra guard.

Easy, it plugs directly into a free servo port on your FBL or receiver. It boots up automatically when the BEC turns on and automatically charges (albeit ungodly slow). If you're worried about back EMF you can implement an Optipower BEC guard into each of your BEC leads.

Thanks earhythmic. Thats easy enough. I'll go for the super combo version with LED. This is a no brainier.

Since I'll be using a Kosmik 160 would you recommend the bec guard too?

How did and do you like your Urukay and Speed? Which one do you prefer?
