BTW I have a Stratus... the motor is bolted to the bottom frame by the backplate bolts.

I have never really had to make any adjustments to the Stratus for the gap. I just bolt the motor in position and put the top frames onto the bottom plate. Only adjustment I have made is if the front or rear gap is greater. Then just loosen the motor plate and slide it forward or rearward to make the gap the same on each side.
