Default Cye governer

I have a question, on an electric machine, would you be better off running the ESC integrated governer (if you have one) such as the Castle Phoenix HV Series, or running the one on the TotalG?

I don't have mine set up perfect yet (adjusting headspeed) but I will say that what it is running at is holding better than my HV85 governor. With the latest update to the CC esc, the governor was pretty good. But with the governor in the Total G it seemed flawless. Now if I can just figure out how to adjust my headspeed with the DX-7.

Smile TG govenor mode adjustment

I believe you would adjust it just like on a nitro.

I use a DX7. Using the TG software(General settings), select which function you want to control the head speed with. I use the "gear" channel, or you could select the Aux 2 channel. I use the gear channel for HS, and the Aux 2 for FC gain control. I'm leaving the tail gain at a default of 65 until
Curtis comes out with the firmware fix for the TG, so that you can program a 'hard' number into the TG software, and not have to use a radio channel to control, FC gain, Gov. speed, or tail gain.

Make sure that your DX7 is set to AUX/AUX and GEAR/GEAR in the set-up menu( scroll switch held to up, pwr radio to on. Then toggle through and find that menu.

You then adjust the headspeed using the ATV setting ( also program the gear ratio into the TG software, then put cursor on GOV RPM box, adjust ATV number to give you the headspeed you want. You have a two position switch for those selections, so you can run two different speeds, or even shut it off (0). You simply raise or lower that ATV setting in your radio, until you get the HS your looking for.

You can even use a program to give two different headspeeds, idle 1 or idle up 2. Look in the DX7 manual to figure programing.

Just give Curtis's business a call, ask for tech help...you will get Nick, Brian or Curtis and they will walk you through it!

Thanks. That is exactly how I have everything programmed. I have it set up using the Gear switch as well. So the throttle curve is no longer even required? Maybe I just have to separate the endpoints further apart so I can hear the headspeed change. I didn't have anyone with me to tach it.I will plug in this afternoon to see if I can check it out.

I have my esc to just fixed points, no governor.
