Default Out of storage

I was wondering if anybody has flown their g4 out of storage yet, or has many hours on the machine. Are there any special areas you have noticed that need monitoring. Im looking for some preventative maintenance before the season begins.

My machine only has about 2hrs on it, and that is circuit flying and loops and stuff. I dont push it hard at all, it has a wren44 so i want to make this heli last forever.

Thanks,
Jon

Every 200 flights grease the dampers and thrust bearings
:-)
I find the pitch links wear out around 100 flights

Keep plenty of canopy grommets, and to avoid fuel tank wear and tear put some thin foam between the tank and frame and you should be sweet other than general Nitro maintaince.

Phil, what grease are you using.

Have you noticed any main gear wear at 200+ flights.

Triflow synthetic for the dampers, and thunder tiger thrust bearings grease

No major wear, I forgot to mention I did clean the my main gear with a tooth brush when ever it built up a lot of dirt.

Here you go.

The extended exhaust was never flown, just a thought.

I forgot to mention, you should lubricate tail gears with some silicon Grease every ten flights or so, I'm not sure if ur fuel mixture will self lubricate like Nitro fuel

I had to buy a second set of frames, i cut up both frames so i have and upper and lower like a TDR. Lining up the engine mounts (stock G4 mounts) and then drilling holes to secure the mount was a pain, but not that bad. Then mounting tanks was awkward because the turbine took up all the space, but they look OK. Other than that it was pretty much like building a regular G4, plus all the plumbing and balance is actually really good.

There was a guy in Australia that built a G4 with a wren, different approach. He had two side frames custom made, with spacers. I emailed him a year ago, he wasnt making anymore. So i built my own spacers and cut up the frames to widen.

http://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t672962p1/ im going to get flammed for posting this, oh well here is his thread.

Any way, it will be a few months until ill be able to fly again, damn winter. Plus there will have to be more than one other person at the field or i wont get any video.
