"Like New" Refurbished PL6's and PL8's available from Revolectrix

Just saw that Revolectrix USA is selling "Like new" refurbished PL6's and PL8's on their site.

PL6 is $140, PL8 is $190. Save either $35 or $50, nice.

From the PL8 page:

"This is "like new" refurbished unit. The unit has been received back from a customer with few or any problems. Unit has been repaired, and tested against the latest production specifications.

Please note: Factory Refurbished items do not include any basic adapters that often come with a new unit. All Factory Refurbished PowerLab units have been upgraded to V2, 1344W. These units may have an EC5 connector on the input cable or heavy duty plier plips. All Factory Refurbished "like new" units include a full one year factory warranty."

PL6 page just says "All Factory Refurbished "like new" units include a full one year factory warranty."

I don't think I'd go for that to save a few dollars on a refurbished unit, no matter how 'like' new they are. For a kick off it says they come with no adapters, "Please note: Factory Refurbished items do not include any basic adapters that often come with a new unit."

Which let's face it, isn't 'like' new, is it? That would probably eat up most, if not all, of the difference anyway.

Appreciate the post, but it's not for me. Now if they were half price, that would be something to consider. Perhaps I'm alone, who knows.

I don't believe the Powerlab6 comes with any adapters unless you buy a bundle. So there's no difference there. The Powerlab8 used to come with an adapter to connect the older style FMA packs and Cellpro balance boards. Very few people used them and I'm not sure they are still including them.

No need to apologize for wanting new product it. I get that. But these refurbs can be good for adding second charger, or someone that had a limited budget and was considering a lower end charger. Typically the stock on these is gone the day they are announced. So there's definitely interest.

I didn't at any point apologise, but at the same time I did try to make my case, hopefully whilst being diplomatic about it, and questioning if it were just me.

Fair comment. I guess this proves that they are appropriately priced, and that I'm likely wrong.

Personally I use the leads that came with my 10S. Nothing wrong with them for me.

Sorry my mistake. I guess I was reading between the lines in your diplomatic approach Its definitely not just you. In most cases I'd pay a little more to get new unit.

Anyway the main point was that the common JST-XH adapters are not included with any Cellpro or Powerlab unless it was purchased as a bundle. Some models include adapters but not the common JST-XH adapters. So comment about adapters and price eating most if not all of the difference wasn't accurate. I can see some users reading that and getting the wrong idea regarding the value of the refurbs.

Indeed, well I did for one, as I thought they would come with adaptors, as did mine, but I hadn't realised it was a bundle. I guess it must have been.

In that case I can see some more attraction, but if and when I out grow what I have, like you, I still think I will choose new.
