Default Is the 'new' 1917H worth it?

Hi there,
Is the 'new' NEU 1917H more reliable then the first ones?
I think it has been long for people to have an opinion about it, so please share...

Thanx
Elad.

Have a new one since november 2010. Great motor so much power... Running perfect till now (though it's normal for a motor this price...)

Anyone know the specifics about the difference between the discontinued KDE/Neu 1917H and the 1917 available for order on the Neutronics site?

Went something like this. KDE OEMed the 1917 from Neu. It had some problems, KDE discontinued the motors as am sure Patrick did not want to continue to have issues with Quality. Neu redesigned it. What they redesigned not sure.

they re made the rotor part, something about it breaking their cf tape and the magnetics coming apart at 20k rpm : ), or causing bad vibration as they were about to come apart.
but from the few that fly the new design they say its great.

I heard that the magnets breaking loose or something like that (F22) sent a bunch back to the factory. I have also been told by Neu that they are willing and able to make repairs to the KDE models. Both mine are post repaired and run fantastic.

I was talking about the construction. There is no current Neu 1917 that matches the kV of the KDE/Neu 1917H/1Y N42 , and the power that the KDE ad quotes is double what the numbers on the Neu site show. I was wondering if anyone knows more about what makes them a hotter motor.

Maybe someone from one of these companies will chime in. Did I get any of this story right, Patrick? 8^)

Thanks for the replies.
I was talking about the fixed KDE motor, and from reading here I understand that there are no complaints regarding that motor?
