My preference of going to a physical building of the lhs limits my choices when I'm in CLE so a Trex is out of the question since no one around here stocks the parts for them. When I spend time in Detroit, there are actual hobby places that have those parts stocked for the Trex and I might consider going that route.... and so I wait and fly what I have in the hangar for now.

Waiting....
I got tired of waiting too, I bought a Trex 450 plus and am loving it. I'll probably break down and get the 130 and 300 too if they ever come out but no hurry now.

I got tired of waiting and got another mini protos, lol. Decided after a lot of thought a 450 and a 300 isn't probably all that much different. If anything at all the 300X will require more skill, I would have thought. Ironically if the 300X came out on time I would not have made this call.
For close quarters flying - mCPX and I'm pre-ordered on the 130X - will see how this works out. I think the 130X will be way bigger than the 300X. I might have to eat my words and get a 300X as well but we'll see.

So what's the latest projected release date for the 300x now? I quit watching it once they started slipping one right after the other. If it appears soon I might get one otherwise the new trex 250dfc pro combo looks tempting.

There was a production 300X at the fun fly in Michigan over the weekend from what I was told by a friend. Most people were looking at the 130X.

The friend was there at that fun fly and saw the 300X fly and did not get a chance to fly it but said more interest was directed at the 130X which he thrashed a bit just to see how it would hold up and he was impressed. He also has much larger birds so the 300X is not as much of a priority for him and he lives in an apartment complex which is more conducive to the mCPX or 130X size. I've made some assessments as of late for my flying style since I travel a lot and it makes more sense for me to get the 130X first and set the mCPX aside for a backup copter. I looked at the 250 DFC today and it seems somewhat smaller than my SR and I felt that I would be splitting hairs in a sense so maybe the other heli would have to be a 300+ sized bird which means something like the 300X or the 450X depending. Just my 2 cents.

This is the full quote from Dribbe from the 130X forum, saying that the 300X are on the same boat as the 130X
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (I don't think the 130 itself has had that many slips? We agree it was originally announced for some time in June, correct? No, it should not be a game of one more month, one more month with the 130) Well, the bottom line is... we are all frustrated with a lot of things going on... there is really no point in trying to 'make excuses'. We are past that point. Many things are out of our control with regards to customs, shipping company actions, and so forth, but it doesn't really matter... too many other slips there for any of that to matter... customers are frustrated for good reasons... we are frustrated. Bottom line is that the quantity for this and the 300 are built and enroute... were inspected at the factories before leaving... and we have every expectation that they will pass again here.... So it is all in the hands of the shipping companies and customs and so forth at this time.... no further delays expected... product is built. That is the facts of the situation. We are taking actions to do our best to reduce these frustrations in the future. Hope the next big project will be a better situation. They are coming. We are happy with them. (The 130's at the fun fly last weekend were production line items air shipped in) Sorry for the lateness. David __________________ Horizon Hobby Product Development |

I agree that the 130X will probably have much larger number of units sold than the 300x. The lower price along with the smaller size for backyard flying will appeal to more folks than any larger heli.

I'm Still a Horizon Hobby Customer!
I'm Definitely Still Interested in the 300X & 130X but they're not available yet; though I do still plan to get both once released.
But being that I'm a HeliFreak and Impatient, I've spent considerable funds already on other Helis: 4 Rave 3Ds, Mini Protos, Protos, Trex 450 DFC, Trex 250 FBL, 2 Blade 120SR's, another V2 mCPX, and a mQX...all that after I picked up my Blade 450X. Plus I bought Hop-Ups for my Blade 450 3D. I love RC Helis...can't say more than that. Oh, I'll still get the Blade 300X and 130X but needless to say, I have to build up the funds again. Horizon Hobbies has given me highly fun RTF, BnF, and Transmitters I seriously Digg. I ain't going away simply because of some production issue's...happens in the video game world all the time. So my only issue with the delays is my Impatience.
