Do the skookum systems require digital servos? I have a 450 I am shopping for and really like that this unit has a built in governor. Is the pc interface needed for initial programming? Does it require additional cables etc to use a pc for programming?

You can select Analog or Digital servos and the speed.

They have a built in USB port so it’s real easy to connect to your PC.

Edit: Found the answer, came up with another. Between these two rpm sensors is one more favorable than the other?

It looks like the Eagle Tree has two leads running to the motor vs. the Hyperions one.

I the Hyperion sensor is the most popular, but I've heard either will work.

Both work, the Hyperion is less noisy, and the YGE ESCs are the best of all so far (dont know about scorpion ones).

The only problem the Hyperion sensors is that they won’t work with Castle Creations ESC’s. We will have to wait for the CC sensor to come out.

I guess experience varies but I have had no problems with the CC ESCs and the hyperion phase sensor and it has be multiple installations.

What FW are you running on the ESC, AFAIK the sensor will work up to V3.xx but V4 they changed how the PWM works and the sensors dont like it.

It self-levels, goes to a preset pitch, and shuts the motor off. EDIT... oops this is the 540 we're talking about here... No self leveling on this... All else goes though.

If conditions are right, that would mean that it may actually autorotate nicely to a landing...
