Hard mount. Don't use the rubber grommets as it an affect the accuracy of your servos.

Thanks for the heads-up Jeff. I'm still waiting for my kit; and trying to anticipate stuffs I would need help on. This is going to be my first proper build.

Mounted servos w/o rubber grommets. If stiffening arm I figure they want things rigid! Most not using rubber grommets anymore.

I need to know number of poles on the Compass SZ 2617, 1320 KVA motor. I know it was asked about somewhere in here but can't find it. Need for telemetry on this little beast! Tks!!!

On the iPad again,

Both the phone and the build sorry for the typos. But anyway i'm pretty sure its 8 poles. It is a little challenging build. Im having alit of fitment issues mainly the.ball links. That and my motor was imbalanced but mike from main is awesome and taking care of everything real helpfull . Hopefully it flies good then all the building pains will disappear.

motor is 8 poles, i opened mine and counted.

tip: if you drop one of the tail pitch link pins in your thick carpet under the desk you're working at, the pins are magnetic, rubbed a magnet all around till you hear a click.

hs-5065 servos, i used 2 screws on top and 1 on the bottom for them to fit the cyclic mounts.

Bench vise for the tail pin was a awesome tip, took 2 mins to put the pin in.

i had a small bag added to my parts with 2 ball links, say to replace with links on page 56.

I also cracked one of my ball link on the pitch arms. I have 7hv links, i used those.

I'm about halfway done.

i'm done and did just a small hovering at 70% thothle in a way to small space :-)
Anyway, i had the biggest problems with the skids, i still find them not realy suitable.

I have a lot of vibration and noise when the heli spins up. once over a certain RPM the noise is gone and all seems fine.
I can't seem to locate the source for that...
Any one else got this?

I'm planning of taking him for a miaden flight tomorow.

Bye,

Premme

Pull your motor and mount out and run it on the bench .... please report back to me if it's the motor. If it is, please don't bother pulling it apart - I think I already know the cause.

Thanks - 8 poles. You all got me worried about the vibrations. My first Beastx in AR7200. I have setup 3G, 3Gx and HeliCommand and beg to differ with all who say Beastx is easier, not true! Slow progress but have servos centered and swash level and blades level. This is slow build and reminds me more of building a 250 or something! I did a Trex 550 and an HV7 so this is smaller and sometimes pretty tough!!!!

I never broke a link!!!!!!!! Impressed myself!

On the iPad again,
JCL

its not a vibe that affects any thing . it does it while spooling . head speed cant even be up to 500 rpm when it does it. it quickly smooths out.

Yeah it's not a vibe, it's a squeal. With the jive I have throttle hold on and flick into idle 2 which is 55% and then flip hold off. For the first 1-2 seconds I get the screech while the headspeed builds and then it's gone the entire flight. On spool down I get the same thing for 1-2 seconds.

I know Jeff and Mike are already on it so hopefully we will know more soon. I have 10 flights on mine and no issues at all other than that.

By the way, build tip....hemostats are your friend when installing the elevator drive tube

landing skids

1. the screws are too long
2. the holes in the plastic things are too small.

I installed everything the first time and the skids just fell off.

so

i drilled the plastic to the next size up, then cut off maybe 3mm off each screw, now they are held on tight.

Weird. I wonder if it's similar to the squeal that I get on my 6HV at times? I know other people have mentioned their 6HVs doing the same thing.
