Default v200d03 servo replacements

Before I pull the trigger on this helicopter, does anyone have a clue if a better servo might work on this model? If it is the same size as a trex 250 and gaui then wouldn't the same weight/size servos work for the v200d03? Any ideas from more experienced pilots?

Hi, I'm not an experienced flyer by any means but I am working on better replacement servos for the V200D03 and have some on order. Will let you know how I get on.

Sounds great. That will keep me on the fence for some time before going for this heli or trying the Trex 250 out.

If you don't crash it you won't need better servo replacements.

Will the servos for the 4f200 work on the v200d03? The servos for the v200 are 7.6-6 and that is the same for the 4f200.

same servo but the airwolf servos are not the same but may work also plus they are cheaper and slower.. I will probably buy a 3 pack of the stock one & also stock tail servo.

Someone mentioned that a futaba or exi might work. It would be great to have MG servos in this helicopter.

Please let us know how they work when you get them. If it was difficult to install, how they respond.

The D922MG servos have arrived and they fit...just!

The elev servo needs the most work, you need to cut/grind the mounting tabs to the same shape and size of the Walkera servo and shave off a bit of the edges so they're more rounded. The D922MG's are about 8mm deeper as well so it sticks out a bit more to the side of the heli. The canopy will fit over it just about. You also have to use the servo arms that come with them as the Walkera ones won't fit.

I've not flown this heli yet, too scared! but everything works fine on the bench.

Some pics.

Give it a try once I over the noise an size I was enjoying flying this baby. The climb out is awesome. Why are you switching servos then? Give it a rip.

I bought this heli second hand to get the DEVO 8 that came with it.
It had already been crashed before and 2 of the servos were broken along with the main gear. I thought I might as well buy metal gear servos to try.

I'm nervous about flying it as I'm a very new pilot. Those carbon blades look very scary!!

Oh and I've designed and fitted a slip clutch for the tail shaft. Works along the same lines as Bob's kit for the D02S but you need to make a longer shaft.
Here's a pic.

I wish you could drop by and test fly it for me!

I've got the Trex blades now so will give it a go on the weekend. Will have some spare underwear on standby!
