What locktite do you use on your raptor 90
So i am currently putting the finishing touches on my 90 ,
i am wondering what kind of locktite do you use on your engine bolts. I currently have the red locktite witch is i think considered the super strength one. Also I was wondering I have seen many birds with their electronics just strapped down with velcro without being wrapped in any sort of foam rubber. What do most of you do ? do you wrapped everything foam rubber ? |

I use blue loctite. Heard you should use high temp loctite on the muffler but I used blue and double nutted it using longer bolts that stick out allowing for the nuts. The foam thing is for protecting your electronics in the eveny of a crash, correct me if im wrong.

Foam can be for vibration isolation, as well.
I NEVER recommend the red loctite. I've stripped a number of bolts b/c of that crap. The blue works great! The longer bolts on the muffler with some nylock nuts is a good suggestion.... |

^^^ +1 No need for red loctite, blue will work just fine. You will spend alot of time cursing and rounding nuts and bolts off if you use red loctite

I had the nylock nuts on first and after a while the heat gets to them. Im still using them but backing up with a standard nut as a jam nut.

Blue works great but you have to clean the part well...extremely well, or it doesn't hold up.
As to the red locktite, if you're stripping the heads, you're not using enough heat to break it loose. I use a propane torch to heat the screw...only for a about 5-10 seconds (depending on the screw location) and it comes right off. You can also use a soldering iron, just takes longer...about a minute. The I did use red on the flybar cage mixing arms...somewhere else but I forget right now. Everywhere else it's blue.
