Question Trex 500 main hub on hurricane 550?

I dont like the narrow hub the hurricane has, and i can't find a FBL-head that works with 12mm thick blade roots together with a 8mm mainshaft.

I have a spare Trex500 center-hub i bought just to see if i could make it work instead of the Gaui part.
The extra width is a plus for me. It will space the grips further apart, but it is only adding a slight delta. The grips are actually too close together now and not lining up perfectly.

I want to use the stock plastic grips, but need to find a shaft and bearing combination to make it all work together.

I have not owned a trex500 and now finding out the strange way they put the head together with stepped feathering shafts and fs sleeve. I wonder what the benefits are of this design.

I have no additional parts except the hub. So would need a shaft and dampners, perhaps change the bearing size in the grips to accept a different diameter fs.

Anyone know a combination of parts that is close or would work fro me?

Its a shame X5 bits are so expensive. I got this RJX 500 FBL hub for $8.
The X5 does have a 6mm feathering shaft like the trex500, and uses and bigger bearings in the grips than the hurricane. So would need the grips also,

I thought for a moment the trex500 has a 8mm thick feathering shaft in the middle, but i was mistaken. seems to be 6mm

The X5 featheringshaft could bring me pretty close to fitting it. Ill try to fins some reasonable priced grips.

...All the ones I have are 8mm....All Flybar stuff though
The center hub is 34mm and 12mm bore for the feathering shaft
T Rex 500 feathering shaft is 6mm x 68mm between the thrust Brgs.

Don't know how to help you, But if you can't get this to work the Stock FB head can be made FBL easily.

Plus

and you get a good FBL head with Gaui parts.

Sorry, for the US web sites, but I don't know of any local to you, but I assume you can find something like these near you.

Thanks, but I already have those parts fitted. It works but i found the stock hurricane hubs to bend easily, and new ones not spinning 100% true. The plastic hub ends are slightly flexible. Together with the silly small dampner O-rings and the way they are spaced so close together makes the whole assembly so flexible. If i grab both blades and rock them a bit they flex quite a bit. Making the pressure higher on the damponers fixes it a bit for one flight, than back to sloppy. Im afraid i start to deform things.
A lower hub will also make the heli look much better.

Sweet. Will do if i get stuck.

I'm going over several manuals of different brands. Logo500 maingrips might work, but will need an odd size 6x14x4 bearings set to get it to work.
RJX X-Tron 500 manual is next.

edit:
RJX has smaller grips.
Trex550 & 600 will need the 6x14x4 bearings.

X4 rotor yoke with X5 grips might just do the trick.

I read that thread. Together with the chopped down main mast topic it was sort of my inspiration. I have a Hurri425 with a 500 FBL head on it and its so nice, but the thicker 520mm blades wont fit the grips.

Getting all the X5/X4 parts would be for another months budget. Just got a nice metal tail suffs to sort out the problem that has been haunting this heli for over a year.
Tried about anything to get rid of the vibe: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=557594

Im off for some tinkering on it now, Hope to get it ready for a test run tomorrow.
