Question Logo 600 SX question – Wobble on spool up/down and Head speed

Finally after months of sitting on my build table. My 600 SX maidened yesterday. Few questions for you guys with more experience

1.)
Heli does wobble dance on the skids as soon as I start to spool up and then quickly smoothens out. Same is the case with spool down, right before the rotors are about to stop it does the skid wobble dance and then smoothens out to come to a complete stop moments later. Is this normal for a 600 SX? I bought this heli used. Since then I have upgrade to V2 frames, New Main Bearings, New Main Shaft, New Fathering Shaft, New Thrust Bearings and head dampeners. The main blades are also perfectly balanced

2.) I am flying 2200 HS with 600 mains and 105 tails. Its 12s Pulse 3700mah setup. The helis flies awesome but I would like for the heli to be bit more aggressive and responsive. May be this smooth/soft feeling is the “Logo” way that I just need to get use to with. Is any one flying more then 2200 HS with 105 tails? Is 2250 a safe head speed for this bird with 105 on the tails ?

3.) What tail gain are you using in V-bar settings?

4.) What head gain are you using in V-bar settings?

Thanks..

How tight do you bolt your blades on?

Tight enough where I can hold the heli sideways and blades will not move. If I gave it a small bump then they will move.

2100- 2200 is pretty standard on the 600. Try bumping your HS up to 2200 or so.

On 600 blades you still can go higher but maybe try more pitch allso.
How much pitch do you have today?

Maybe you can try 13 degrees of collective and see if that makes it more aggressive, keeping same headspeed. Also try playing with Vbar Agility and Style sliders to make it more responsive.
For the wobble, is your blade tracking spot on? And does it make any difference if you tighten the blades a bit?

Finally some good weather yesterday. Tightening the blade grips eliminated the wobble

I must say, this heli flies amazing. It's my first mikado and I am loving it

So the plan for this 600sx is to be my main work horse. I plan to always have it in my car and fly every chance I get. I am using stock scorpion 450 kv motor with pulse 3700 12s setup and 12T pinion.

Do you guys fly your helis back to back? I never do ... I usually have at least 2 helis .... I alternate and fly one while the other one cools down.

I am thinking of changing that hobbit because of always having to carry two helis .... Instead fly back to back ...

The newer motors should cool down to operating temperature when back in the air and airflow should cool the ESC down as well

What are your thoughts?

In the winter, I don't think about it and just fly back to back. But in the summer when it is hot out, I wait around 5 minutes for everything to cool down a bit. Usually by the time I have loaded the next pack in the heli, my five minutes are almost over so it is not keeping me waiting really.

I say for learning, flying 1 single heli per day is the way to go. That way you don't have to adapt to different setups and can concentrate on learning new stuff. Have fun with the new heli

I am not a beginner. 3 years experience and probably 25 helis in 3 years. Current fleet size is 9.

In winter I don't care about back to back flying as well. All that I am trying to prevent is having to carry two helis with me all the time

I am more of a opportunistic flier..... I hardly ever get any time to fly.... Having the heli always in the car can mean a flight or two when I have a few minute or a flight when leaving work

Now that my 600 is flying awesome ...... Time to work on making it a little more aggressive. I love it so much that if I can make it a bit more aggressive, I am buying another 600sx

1. I read some place (cant seem to find it again) that washers can be places in the head to make the dampeners a tad stiffer that also help in prolonging dampener life. Any one know the part number of these washers?

2. Bumping Pitch from 12.0 to 12.5

3. Does any one increase the default Cyclic Ring? I guess the default is 85

4. I plan to play with pitch first ..... if that does not do the trick. is 2250 a safe head speed with 105s on the tail?

Not on the new SX head

2. Bumping Pitch from 12.0 to 12.5

Go to 14

3. Does any one increase the default Cyclic Ring? I guess the default is 85

Leave it at 85

All day, even with 14 degrees of pitch….

Hope this helps...
