BETA: MrMel's HS calculator v2
Working on a V2 on my Headspeed calculator.
You can find it here: http://heli.dacsa.net/calculatorv2/Default.aspx as of today its still a beta, so results might vary, but should be in ball-park ok. One of its features is it should be able (fairly ok) what the headspeed will be when you run governors like Jazz or Jive at a certain % on the radio. Also its adjustable without using terms like Ohm, IR and so on, which should help avg E-flyers to make a fairly good estimate. If you feel its faaaaaaar off from your own tached setup, please post your setup including Motor ESC Battery (brand and size & cells & age) Gearratio % Throttle used Indicate if youse governor or not |

It's coming, I gonna do a little "?" next to each value and write some descriptions.
One feature I forgot to mention is that it using cookies, so you dont have to re-write the values just to check another pinion Also, I will add Ambient temp as a parameter, because it does sure change alot in terms of performance & spoolup speed. |

Very good Mr Mel - about time we had some factoring of climate and lipo parameters - I tried it on my FDR of the L400 - optical tach 2340 - FDR 2344 - Mr Mel v2 2339

Nice feature additions to your calculator! I'll go through my logs and compare the Outrage25 with my tired Evolite.
Are you mathematically adjusting the values of HS based on these new parameters or adjusting based on statistics from measured flights? Bruce

Im calculating Weight of Ohm & Volt differences and give each offset a value, like temp at 25C gives -2 weight factor for Ohm and so on.
So, if you for sample select that you have cold but overpowered, the result might be like you selected nothing, but in reality it should give the most accurate result. |

Ive updated it for Beta 4.
I have added a way to save Preset's, in other words your own heli fleet, so you can flip between set's of data Let me know if you find any trouble with saving & updating those presets. It using cookings to recognize you, so if you clear out your cookies, your presets is unfortunally lost |

Very nice mrmel!
Could you more deeply explain the meaning of the line in the results window that says...."Max normal bogging applied you will see RPM at: 2285 (for example). I don't understand what this number represents.

Sample: If you choose desirepower/outrage packs you see that this number is very close to 75% governored on a Jive/Jazz, but if you select 25C pack it will be alot lower, in other words, on a older pack you might need to run 70% to get optimal performance. Also, if you have a RPM meter and you go below this alot, it means your motor is under-sized or you have other issues (like I found I had too many poles motor and ESC max switching limit kicked in..) |

This is a very nice tool. Thank you so much MrMel. I find it funny how you say Really hot is 86F. What about a 100F+? That is what we get here in Texas.
I had another ideal that may be cool is if you could put in a how many minutes you could get per flight if you put how many mAh your battery is. Joe |

Fredrik,
The HS calculator is excellent! I would mention that like Joe, our temps here get average well above 86 degrees F in the summer here in suburban Chicago. More like 95-100F It would be cool to see a higher range added. Not a big deal though.

Thanks,
Problem is that we never gets that hot here, so I don't have sample data (engine otherwise is pretty much based on actual data, not just numbers calculated) I can probably guesstimate it, it should follow a fairly linear curve. Regards to mah/minutes, it would'nt give a fair reading, It totally depends on what motor, blades etc, but I will see what can do, you would need to enter some basic information. |

Nice work Mr Mel. It looks to be fairly accurate based on the performance of my heli measured on my logger.
I disagree with your temperature definitions however - 25 should be cool! |

MrMel you Rock. Even if it is a guess it helps a lot. The only reaons I was thinking about the Mah even if it is not that accurate is to maybe show what kind of difference to see what you gain and loose with different pinions.
