Enough grunt?
Hi all,I would like to know if tha Align 3550kv 450X motor in my 450S has enough grunt to lift the Align MD500E fuse? I don't mind shelling out bucks for a Scorpion or similar but if it's not warranted....? Any and all opinions will be most welcome.

Use a 13T pinion and a 2170mAh 20C or better Lipo, and you should be good.
335 mm main rotors would be beneficial too. |

Yea, you have to realize that the 450S is much lighter than the sev2. Almost 100 grams I believe. That is why I took my sev2 out and put a 450s in. She gets airborne much quicker now. So that motor should work. Except if I were you. I would get a bigger battery instead of adding nose weight. You will get a longer flight time. I currently get 11 mins with my 3200 mah 4 cell system.

Last weekend was my first flights with the 450SA and N23CP 500d. I am flying Thunder Power 2200 xTremes 3s, 430XL motor (3700kv) and 35X ESC, with an 11 tooth pinion. And it flew good.
I am going to try this weekend to run Flat Bottom 325mm blades, and also bumping up the head speed a little with a 12 or 13 tooth pinion. Just to see what happens. |

I guess your keeping the fuse? It is nice flying one of these. Much easier to see.

Yeah, Im invested at this point. Once you boink one on the ground, not matter how lightly, you just wont get much out of it from then on. So why not keep it?
