Default Brand new Spektrum DSM2 satellite won't bind?

I got a new DSM2 satelight from ebay.
It was sealed in the origional electronics bag from Spektrum but no box.
Anyway,
I plug it into my AR7200BX and rebind.
The satellite wont light up at all.
So I try another 7200, same thing.
So I set my TX to DSM2 and try again??????
Nothing!

I am used to seeing some kind of light when a RX is powered up.
DSMX satellite's light up or blink so is my DSM2 satellite supposed to light up indicating it has power?

Thank guys,

Something sounds fishy. The OEM Spektrum packaging does not deliver any Rx components in a "plastic bag". While I havent seen direct evidence of counterfeit remotes yet I would not be surprised at all.
Was the seller an authorized SPM distributor? Or was it one of the many HK sellers with stuff for far less than anyone else is selling them for?

To answer your question about Normal operation a DSMX and DSM2 Rx or Remote will behave the same during the binding and connecting process. The big difference is that DSMX will not give slow blink top indicate a reboot like a DSM2 will.

You should have fastblink(orange) in bindmode and solid orange when connected.

If your using them on a FBL controller and have more than one they both need to be the same one way or the other.

Haha. After I left I got to thinking.7200BX/DSM2...wait a minute...thats a no go.
Not sure why that went by me when I read it the first time.
The BX is a DSMX Rx. You cant mix/match DSMX and DSM2 in the same setup.

Im still interested in the new remote coming in a plastic electronics bag.Huge red flag.
I guess that distracted me.

Default Thanks guys

U know how when you buy something electronic it may come in a tinted static proof bag?
That's what this came in and it was factory sealed.

Guess I know now why it won't bind with any of my AR7200BX's.

Thanks aerocal.

This sat will end up on a 300X with a Turnigy FBL controller so I guess I wasn't ripped off after all.
U guys rock!

Spectrum Sats come in a blister pack of plastic on a cardboard not static bags. By no means am I saying that this is one but counterfeit but there are some out there.
