Longest i can stretch a nano cpx wild
I want to get the best tail authority on a wild bl nano. The kit is from AD and is coming in monday....so what is the longest i should go for the tail boom and main blades???
I know of the lynx 95mm but would any longer be worse and cause bogging? And ive heard of 125-130mm tail is good but is longer going to help or hurt for hard 3d flight.... Ive got a 2ft cf rod i can cut down to whatever ideal length to eliminate tail kicks. Sent from my Goblin 125 using SAB

Basically you want to keep the center of gravity at the mainshaft. You can check the COG by holding the top canopy pins with the battery installed and see if it tilts forward or backwards. It should be level which means that it is balanced.
If you vary the length of the tail boom it will change the COG. A good mechanical setup will cause minimal tail kick, like a new mainshaft with freshly oiled bearings. A new tail motor or even a 7mm tail motor with longer tail blades will probably help the most for tail kick on pitch pumps. Some use a v-curve for the throttle. On a side note...I like to set my rudder travel to 150% which makes it rotate faster. I also set my throttle curve to 87% which seemed to work best for my wild. Have fun!

Just FYI the Lynx stretch tail isn't 95mm, that is the measurement of the Lynx Stretch main Blades. The Lynx Stretch solid boom is identical in length to the hollow MCPX V2 tail. I believe it is +15mm compared to the stock Nano boom.
That puts it at about 122mm (stock is 107mm). If you use staggered small sections of shrink tubing to hold the wires on the solid boom like I did swapping out the carbon fiber portion of the boom assembly takes about 30 seconds. The shrink tubing slides on and off even fully shrunk. So you can easily try a 135-140mm and work your way back to 122mm if you have to. Your motor is going to be way more powerful than mine so I'd start at 140mm and work backwards. |

Maybe, maybe not. I have the stock blades with a 135mm tail boom and the tail holds pretty well on indoor pitch pumps inside at 100% for a little while but I'll have to 3d test it outside... Sent from my Goblin 125 using SAB

I simply use the stock mCPX tail on the Nano CPX...
I measure 130mm from the end of the tail motor to the front of the boom I've tried the extended mCPX boom and didn't think much of it...although you could use it and cut it down to get a solid tail boom |
