Logo 690sx Main Gear Play please help

Hi, I just completed the build of my new 690, and I noticed there is about 1-2mm of up-down play between the one way and lower bearing. Should I shim this (easily done) or just leave it? The main is was also rubbing against the frame, so I shaved it down a little, was that just a sign I needed to sim my main gear??

The up and down play is supposed to be there to allow the main gear to slide up and down, keeping the herringbone pattern centered on the pinion if there are slight imperfections in the gear. I shim according to the manual and leave it. And I try to set the mesh and adjust pinion height with the main gear close to the center of that up and down movement.

All this of course assumes the 690 main gear and shaft are set up the same as all the other logo helis.
