Default Protos ESC

Looking for a cheap ESC for my Protos as I burned out my CC100 in a nose down crash.

Are any of these acceptable? I only do mild 3d. Some are used prices and some are new.

Hobbywing Pentium 80-$35
Turnigy dlux 100A-$35
Turnigy kforce 100A-$60
Hobbywing Platinum Pro 80-$50

Thanks for any help,
Moto

I recommed you go with a Turnigy YEP 80A - great soft start and amazing GOV.

Definitely not the Dlux or Kforce, they are pretty poor performers. I've never use HWs, but they seem to have a solid following.

I assume you mean the Hobbyking YEP80 and that was my first choice but it is out of stock and then has to come from China.

Hopefully someone will chime in on the Hobbywing.

Thanks

Which Gyro?

The Hobbywing Platinum is supposed to work well with Vbar's and Skookum's governors.

Added plus they didn't steal their technology from YGE

The Turnigy Plush series is another option with good results reported on RCG. No data on usage with the Brain tho.

Use a HW ESC and the Brain gov.

The YEP escs are not so great when used with a FBL governor, they kick hard on startup.

Is there any difference between YEP and YGE?
I'm using brain gov on my YGE 90, I don't get a kick on startup, but it is a fairly quick spool time, smooth tho, p500 might rotate 10 deg at most, if at all...

Allegedly, the YEP is a clone of an older, non-production version of YGE...

YEP 80 / 100 (very similar prices) or very strongly consider the HobbyWing Platinum 100A / Turnigy K-Force 100 - this is the same ESC that Gaui use re-branded on the X5
