Default My HP05S from Dylan

I have an old HP05 from the double brushless walkera upgrade.
I put that on the V1 mcpx and feel it is similar to the M5 motor
but with less bog.

So I order the new HP05s and pinion from Dylan to test out. Dylan
send out the package in the very same day. To my surprise, the
pinion is already mount on the HP05s in perfect position. Thanks
Dylan for doing that.

Now I can conclude that, my old HP05 actually has lower KV
than the HP05s I got from Dylan. The HP05s has a lot more power
than my other HP05/M5 setup. It using the same Walkera 10a-L ESC.

The battery live confirms that as well. The battery life with new HP05s
is 30 seconds shorter than M5/old HP05. The heli is meaner. Also the
extended stock tail does not hold so well on heavy pitch input any more.
Every thing confirm this new HP05s is more powerful, burns battery
faster.

The new power is addictive. After 12 pack. I go back to the M5, I feel it is
slow now. Feels more like the stock heli before the BL conversion.
But I like the battery life on M5/old HP05 better. For my current fly
style, they are better motor because less head speed and lighter,
longer battery life.

BTW, the new HP05s is installed on a V2 1.3 board. Some TBO with
extended tail.

I also like the old HP05 as well, the one with lower KV. It has more torque
and bog much less than M5 with very similar battery life. It can work well
with the extended tail. The flight is silky smooth, it is more flyable than the
new HP05s. I think I need to upgrade the tail on new HP05s.

I have 3 MCPX now, I can't part with any one of them. Sign.

are you sure it's V2? V1 has revision 3.9 but V2 has revision 1.1, 1.3 and 1.5 I believe.

Sorry, I mix up. It is V2 1.3, I will edit the original post.

The V1 has 3.9.

Where I crash my bird is classified. Just kidding, I mostly fly my
bird just out side of my house. That is the beauty of the MCPX,
I don't need to got to the park to wait for my turn to crash the bird.
I can charge and fly pack after pack none stop.

I will send you PM in a minute.

BayRC is a good place to hang out as well. If you haven't go to
bayland park in the week end, you should try that.

BTW, I can help small soldering job for local peoples. E.g. replace
burned FET or soldering the battery cable etc.

Hey psyco, I am also fairly new to this hobby also. I usually just fly at a park near my house. If you want to fly sometime on the weekdays Wes at All Speed Hobbies will probably let you fly in the parking lot, he's let me do it before and its more than enough space for a mcpx. Let me know.

They did a few different KV's on the HP05S over the years, from 13000 to 15000 or so, we asked them about doing a "tame" wind to be able to use the stock batteries and they said they used to be wound different but are only available in 14000 KV now.

I guess I have one of those luck "tame" HP05 then. It is actually great,
more torque than M5, bog less, similar battery life (10 second shorter).
And the tail holds great with extended stock tail motor.
