I'm not normally much of a fan of 3d, reminds me too much of a demented dragonfly. But on this size class of heli, it seems to me that the 3d moves are slowed down enough that they are actually graceful - slowed down to a human timescale.

And of course Kyle's flying certainly helps.

funny you should say that because that's exactly the expression I use when I see 3d. I don't say demented but I do say it reminds me off a dragonfly.

Beautiful machine... beautiful flying... thoroughly enjoyed the video (tunes, descriptions and all)

Dave: Kyle has three?!?!? That seems a bit cruel when the rest of us have none

Looking forward to seeing you, Kyle and the triplets at IRCHA.

Regards,
Mair

Quote, "Kyle has three?!?!?"

I know...makes me feel guilty

Kyle's flyin' his thumbs raw trying to get "in-tune" with the machine enough to fly it @ the XFC (we leave to drive back there in only 28 more days). Having three machines allows you to plant one during practice the day before you leave for a competition, and still be able to take two helis with you.

Hate to say it...it must be something in the gear train design, but nothing sounds like a TDR goin' really fast

Dave, I would have to agree with you there. Came back from a funfly in Morgan Hill, and saw Scott's TDR doing some fast fly by and it was very nice. So nice in fact that I had to put my name on the list to grab one.

Most of it is the TDR canopy... we have the Original and several Trex-based Henseleit (TDR / NT) clones. One of them is mine. You can only tell the difference at low-headspeeds when doing 3D in the closer area. There you hear the difference between two- and one-stage gearing.
Anyway, I just wanna hear how a 175T Herringbone main gear and 800mm blades sounds
