1. How will those delrin sleeves come into play on the tail control rod? If the link doesn't screw into the support, what does it do?
2. So, did you CA both delrin tubes on?

I assume it's to prevent the tube from splitting.
Great job on the build thread! Only critique I have is you're going far too slow! |

I got mine on Tuesday night and am pretty much done, however it would have gone a lot slower if I had been taking photos of each step in detail.
well done so far, this build thread will be an invaluable asset for new owners once you finish.

1. Step 24 mentions sanding and gluing, but it refers to the threaded rod, not the CF tube or the delrin sleeves. This sanding and gluing does not need to be performed due to the pre-assembly. 2. Steps 46 and 47 describe and illustrate how to use the delrin sleeves. I test fit a link into a sleeve, and it goes in just fine. Or you could say the sleeve slides over the link just fine. These two steps mention nothing of gluing the sleeve onto the CF tube. My take on this is that the sleeves are meant to support (provide rigidity) the threaded rod and ball link, much in the same way as the ball links and rods are supported in the delrin tubes in the 6HV head, albeit the tubes act as the sleeves in the head application. Scott, I can see how you interpreted the instructions to mean that you should glue the sleeves rather than glue the threaded rod. It would have been better for the instructions to state specifically in step 24 not to glue the sleeves.

I really like what you are doing here!
I believe you assembled the belt tensioner wrong. The flank of the support bearing for the motor shaft needs to be at the side where the big pulley is. But I maybe mistaken

Well spotted, yes he has done it incorrectly.

I thought I did the pulleys correctly. I'll go back and recheck that and the delrin tubes. I do know my links did not fit into the delrin tubes at all.
There are reasons for this going slow. One: I've been sick. Two: I got my wife sick. Three: I've taken over 300 pictures so far and I have to resize, post, and comment. Uploading and commenting a post can take over an hour. I won't be able to do any of this tonight--but I will correct what mistakes I have made tomorrow. I am taking the night off. I've been sick, my wife is sick and we need to get better. My apologies. Scott Edit... exactly what did I do I wrong on the belt tensioner. I've looked at the pictures (I'm at work) and the manual's illustration and I can't see it. Please point it out to me. Thanks! I do see where I went wrong on the tail control rod. Looks like I will need a new one of those!

The pulley tension mount looks correct to me.
ADDED: Take that back, the pulleys are in the right spot, it's the mount that needs to be flipped around so the flange for the counter bearing is on the motor pulley side.

I don't get it, then. The assembly looks just like it looks on the assembly page in the manual.

So far, what can you tell quality wise? Impressed not impressed? Better than Align? I think the tail grips looks weak and ugly, the rest looks quite OK. Just want to hear your honest opinion

The tail slider assembly , tail grips, and mount aren't that impressive( I compare to my Beam e4 $225)if this kit where cheaper than it would be exceptable.I think the quality is fairly typical for heli from China.I think I'm going buy just the head and adapt to my Beam for a light weight rigid head heli.

OK.
On page 23 the bearing that is marked with (9) is a flanged one and needs to be installed from the side where the big pulley (3) is. The bearing (9) should be preinstalled already. That means that you need to make sure that the big pulley (3) goes where the flange of bearing (9) is. This is the side where the motor pulley will be. Otherwise the bearing may fall out to the other side during flight.

Okay, thanks! I got it, now. I truly appreciate all the feedback! It's great to know everyone is really looking at the pictures. It helps immensely!
I'm posting corrected pictures, now. Edit: They're in. I removed the tail control rod for now. Scott

Plus on page 5, the picture before the last one, you have the shim between the tailcontrol-lever and bolt, while it should be between lever and mountingpoint (the plastic thing) noticed this while building mine following your instructions
I made the same mistake, my tail didn't run smooth like this, yours does? |

To answer your question, yes it was very smooth. I have corrected it and it's just as it was before. I actually wondered about the spacer when I was installing it on the wrong end and consciously did not crank down on the screw. My apologies. I'll post fixed pictures tomorrow. Scott

The correct size for the links are M3 yes?
I realise QuickUK carries the M3 version, so we don't have to re-tap it like the regular ones. http://www.quickuk.eu/products/3678/..._h2031-m3.html |
