Hey Fred...good luck with your bird....are you running a 6S or 12S setup?, as i believe the 580kv is for a 12S?...someone with more smarts than me chime in here?

I just got one of these kits V2 with the upgraded parts and belt. I haven't built mine yet but I must say it's a really nice quality kit. Anyway I was thinking of maybe running the new Castle Vertigo motors. What do you guys think? Should I stick with the tried and proven Scorpions or take a risk on the Castle? I've had Castle motors for my R/C cars and they're wonderful but not 100% sure if their Vertigo heli motors are as good as the Scorpions.

Also I plan on running 6S and very slow headspeed to get more air time. I've already got a Hobbywing Platinum Pro 120A HV-Opto ordered.

Default Sv: Which motor do you recommand ?

What are your flight style?

I can recommend scorpion 4035-500, or 4035-560 for 12s hard 3D. Else 4025 series, its also great for fun flying

On 6s i would go for scorpion 4025-1100kv. Its a very proven motor, that just runs great.

I'm just going to be doing some sport flying right now but eventually want to advance to hard 3D. I do not want to upgrade again later for hard 3D so I want to start with a hard 3D ready setup...motor wise and run low head speed for sport flying. I want to run 6S in order to get low head speed. I do not want to get a high kv motor made for 6S.
