Also if you do decide to get the Lynx landing skids the four screws to mount it to the main frame are way too long and prevent the battery tray from sliding in the rails you will have to use four M3x6 screws. They are the perfect fit.

Lynx Upgrade: LX0260 - Trex 700E - Adjustable Motor Mount

Than:
On top of the scale fuse of a Marvel Craft Agusta A109 Power I don't want any mechanical parts to protrude other than the Monster 4-blade rotorhead. An Align H70046 Elevator Arm Set should replace the existing elevator slot. This is what I have come up with:
1). Move the elevator servo to the outside of the frame.
2). Due to the direct coupling of the lower arm to the servo you have to adjust/shorten the length of this lower arm (+/- 0,05mm) to equal the armlength used on the servo's for roll. An extra hub (through M3) is needed to fasten the bolts for the upper arm (2x M3x10).
3). Manufacture on a lathe an axle dia = 5,0mm with a M3 stud (protruding 7,0mm) on the servo-side and an allen bolt M3 on the other side (with reduced diameter to 5,0mm for the 450-bearing).
4) Modify an upper bearing block of an Align 450 to support the other end of the axle and fasten it on the opposite- and inside of the frame (alignment with servo!!).
5). Fasten the lower part of the arm-set to a servodisk, use spacers in between to center the arm with the swashplate connection.
6). Put all together: servodisk + spacers + arm-set and screw through the lower-arm the axle into the servo, this connects the servodisk to the servo and supports the lower elevator arm on its rotation. The axle is NOT fixed in the 450-bearing, allowing for "some movement" to prevent axial forces on the servo.
7). Works like a charm

Default Agusta A109 scale - 700 size

I have the fuse of Marvel Craft Agusta A109 700 size http://justscale.co.nz/catalog/produ...roducts_id/420 and planned to use the mechs of the Assault for this model. But: this heli flyes so well, I decided not to strip this heli. Therefore I bought the kit from KDS - Agile 7.2 Helicopter Kit V2. The mechs are very compact and the complete drivetrain can be placed just in the upper/removable part of this model. This leaves room for a complete interior, cockpit and 6x seat. Underneath 3x flat 4S 5500mAh. I also got myself the Stepcraft 2 - 600, so I can make/print all the needed details and parts myself. It will be a bussy winter and hope to fly this cool and full scale A109 in spring 2016. Since I love the design of the StarFlex rotorhead, though not used on the real A109, I have to construct a new 4-blade rotorhead: only a 3-blade is available.
I will start a new buildingthread for this A109 since it wil be no Assault I'll keep you informed.

Default Just my two cents worth.

Just my two cents worth;

I've just received my Assault 700 yesterday and these are my findings so far. The canopy is junk, worst canopy I've ever seen! It looks like they removed it from the mold when it was still dripping wet. It's completely deformed and cracks as soon as you touch it, it's in the garbage now. The swash plate has a tight spot so that's in the garbage. The tail slider binds, that too is in the garbage. The gears all wobble and are out of round so guess where they all ended up? Yep, in the garbage! It's a shame as the rest of the kit looks rally good, all the bearings are good and HK even used locktite on most of the screws, the only problem is that HK doesn't seem to know the difference between locktite and super glue! Now I'm not sure if the lube in the bearings is actually lube or rust preserver / preventative and I wasn't going to leave anything to chance so I cleaned and re-lubed everything with Super Lube and Jet Oil. (I spent a day on the net reading the MSDS sheets on almost every lube in existence and chemical compatibility charts for Polyoxymethylene (delrin) and every plastic, carbon item on this heli) The lubes mentioned were the best and most compatible I could find, Traxxas silicon gearbox lube (various viscosities) works well too. I have previous experience with HK hell's so when I ordered this heli I already knew that I had to order all of the aforementioned failed parts with Align parts, hopefully they will arrive tomorrow so I can carry on with this build. I used an eflight 700 520kv motor from a Blade 700x as Horizon Hobby is heavily discounting this motor at the moment ($130) RJX blades (rejects as they have a slight blemish in the paint and only cost $50) YEP 120 ESC, HK lipos, Spektrum AR7300bx (again discounted at $129)

shaman--- your experiance is far from what most of us have experianced ,
you should have sent it back , you obiously have a defective kit.,,,

do you have pics of said bad parts? and or canopy?
my canopy was better than ,my blade 600x ,, and alot thicker too ,
so again, you must have had a returned kit or sumthing,

im glad my kit was for the most part good,, you should have sent the kit back tho , you experiance seems very odd

Gartt uses NMB bearings so that shouldn't be necessary.

Unfortunately Helifreak won't allow me to post pictures for some reason. It doesn't matter as I was going to change the canopy anyway as that Assault one looks like the paint scheme was designed and painted by a 5 year old but then that's just my opinion.

Solution is to just order one of these along with the kit.

Thank you for the info but with postage from the international warehouse the canopy will cost me over $60 and take a month to get to me. For about $15 to $20 more I can get an Align within a few days. Also from previous experience I can guarantee almost 100% that the HK canopy will arrived damaged.
