Default Spectrum battery pack when to recharge?

Hi, hopefully someone can help me out here.
I am new to this great sport and have just brought a dx8 with the 2000mah 4.8v nimh transmitter pack. Have only done the initail charge. Dx8 is currently showing 4.5/4.6v on the display, when should I recharge it? Also how long should I charge it for? Plus any more tips on this battery pack would be welcome.
Thank you for reading this.

I grabbed this quote from the Spectrum forum..

https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=418425

5.2-5.3 charged and the alarm goes On at 4.3
There are plenty of variables that will change these numbers slightly
.

I use this and LOVE it! I've only charged it twice in 2 months.

I'm assuming the Turnigy will fit the dx6i and new dx7?

Only the DX8 I assume. Possibly the new DX7s. Not the old DX6i or DX7.

Yes. You keep it in the radio.. tell the radio it now has a Lipo... and plug it in as normal. Orangish light will go off on radio when charged.

I have to say, though, I kinda like having the AA type batteries in my DX6i. I always keep a couple spare sets of AA's in my field box for those times when I forget to charge the TX the night before.

Many times when I'm just flying in my Nano in my back yard, I just keep flying until the TX starts beeping at me, then, if I'm not done flying by then, I just throw some AA's in and keep going. Usually, though, one or both of my kids are yelling at me that it's time for dinner or something, so it's time to go in anyway...

I can usually get at least a couple days worth of flying out of a set of the AA size NMHd batteries in my TX when I'm just dinkin' around the house flying the coax's or the Nano. I take a little more precaution when flying the 450, though...
