This one was shot from my new DJI Vision.
I like how they keep the shutter speed short and simply increase the iso. Now if they could only get a better low light chip

My first Blade 350QX high altitude flight...
Got an early Birthday present, Blade 350QX and have been playing with it for the last 5 nights. Been flying it in “Smart” mode, where the computer does all the babysitting: leveling, stability, and height, and gps position lock…
Last night, I tried the "Stability" Medium flight skill setting. So I thought I would get it flying about 40% lift (to get it about 50 feet off the ground, and ever so slowly going upward)… then about 65% lift to get it a wee bit higher faster… then about 30 seconds of full throttle up, and then stop. That would be fun. NOT!!! I almost lost sight of it, and it was at about 4 minutes (of 8 total max recommended) flight time. So I decided to bring it down. It took another EIGHT MINUTES for it to land! I thought I was going to run out of battery, and freefall crash. Whew, it made it down safely. |

I hope I didn't get the 350 too close to any moisture or anything

A MD500 (on a Trex600). Camera rod was removed with Photoshop, rest is original :-).
Nice weather and a great autumn in Switzerland.

Hi StraightUp, thanks, this is a kind of "heli-selfie" :-)
I used an aluminium tube (15mm x 1 meter) which was previously holding a shower in the garden, nothing special. Fixing was done with cable strap, and the GoPro is on a little wood plank attached with a single screw --> no invest. I was suprised by the very little vibrations. I still have to post the video, it is really funny as well. Edit: here is the video
Here a picture with the boom visible.

Smoke from vegetation being burned by one finger of a lava flow behind the subdivision above ours and slowly headed our way.

Frames from night vision FPV with a FLIR Tau2-334 thermal imaging camera. These are of a lava flow whose tip has stalled just short of taking out our local shopping center and cutting the main highway. While the front has stalled, many surface breakouts are occurring up slope, where the brightest patches are.

You guys are inspiring to say the least!
I know these shots are terrible really, I barely even know how to fly this thing, but I'd say aerial film work probably is my highest motivation in this hobby. And I just wanted to contribute something. I'll get better, and soon the GoPro will be mounted better and the training gear will come off of my Blade 450! This is my first time leaving the soccer field where I learned. The canyon road pull off was still a bit too windy for me, so I ended up down here. I was excited to fly it from above looking down at it as well as from below. |
