Default N5c FBL Setup Help

Hello Gents...

A bit of advice if I may. I'm setting up a CGY 750, 1.4 for the first time and all of my other helicopters are electric and I'm using BD 3SX's on them, so yes new to this system.

I watched Nicks vid which is geared to v1.3, and made it through the basic setup but I have a few questions.

1. Where the software brings up 0 settings for AIL, CYC, and PIT, do I use this to level my swash plate and tweak my servo horns to vertical or perpendicular?

2. In the Flight Tuning section can any of you offers some starting settings for an N5C TT or should I just start with everything at the default values? In the vid Nick did they had modes such as 1, 2, 3... and this software has CMT, Normal, and AVCS, none of which is found in the BD 3sx system that I know of.

If there is another resource other than the manual please point me in the right direction.

Many thanks, Ray

Ray,

Sounds like you have it right, the AIL.Ntr, ELE.Ntr, and PIT.Ntr are used to center/level the swash plate. I think the farthest off of zero I have is about -50 or so.

Don't have a sample set up for an N5, when I first tried it on my E5 I went with the default settings and it worked well, I wound not be afraid to go with it that way.

The Nick Maxwell vids are great, although they no longer match the current software, but still some good info.

Lance-

Many thanks for the clarity and info, much appreciated!

I'll try the stock setups then adjust from there. I'm sure there will be someone at the field to help if I need it. The thing that's a bit more difficult is not having pc/mac interface to dial in and see your setup as a whole.

Thanks again, Ray

Lance... One more question if I may.

Is there a way in the software to adjust the ruder like the swash servo's? I'm asking because its slightly off center and no rotation of the horn will dial it in perfectly.

Ray

Ray,

Hey there is, its the first item in the "Rudder Expert" menu. if you haven't messed with the expert menus yet, scroll through the main menu items and when you get to the Rudder Basic menu hold down the mode "+" key for a couple secs and it will jump to the expert menu.

I haven't changed anything on mine for a while so went to take a look again and this is what I got for the swash set up:

Sensor orientation of course would change some of these.

Servo type = DG285Hz
Swash=HS-120
Heli size 600-700
Servo combo #7
Ail neutral=+86
Ele Neutral=+56
Pit Neutral=+51
SWS rate=74% (this gives the heli just a little less than 10 degrees of reference cyclic. I have heard 70% should be the max but to get that would require a hardware change. I'm not up for that!)
Pit Rate=48% (that's 13deg of pitch.)
Agy dir= reverse
Egy dir+ normal
Rot equa=on
Egua dir=normal

Also right now I have the gyro gains on the transmitter set to 72% on rudder ,and 70% on the Ail and Ele.

You should see Rodney on here some time, he browses through here and helps out. He is on Team Synergy and also flies CGY systems. I personally haven't flown or set up a Futaba FBL yet so I can't chime in on specifics but I do know that when your rudder is in its relaxed middle state you do want it to have just a couple degrees of pitch to compensate for the engine torque.

Frequency. Thank you as well for the suggestion. I'll hunt Rodney down if I get stuck again. Ray
