Default Grip flip mod.

Hi, can anyone point me to a thread or give me some instruction as to what this mod is? I've done a search and can't find anything specific.

I'm starting the build of my 450 pro v2 3gx at weekend and I'd like to arm myself with as many tips, mods as I can beforehand.

Thanks, Dave.

Thumbs up Grip Flip...

I think that the 450 pro 3GX already has flipped grips.
Most flybarless systems use leading edge setups to begin with.

Is this mod needed with the latest v2 kits?

That video link wasn't a link I'd like to watch it but can't find the video.

Not sure if you need to do this on V2 kit. Above says no but I don't know the answer

Got my 450 pro 3GX V2 two days ago.The kit cames with NO grip mod.
What I suggest as mentionned on this forum, to thread lock also the bearings on the tail blade grips.

Anyone notice that you can no longer stream the videos in Finless Bobs video section or is it just me? It used to allow you to watch without downloading.

The tail output shaft length hasn't changed from the pro to the V2 so the grip flip mod is still relevant..

Not required to fly unless your pushing the tail hard...

I personally just use a dremel to extend the flat spot on the end all the way and then slide the tail hub out approx another mm - does the trick nicely..

The V2 kit I got came with the tail shaft shorter than the V1 ( I have both). Was a matter or 2,3 mm, just enough to get enough play on the rear TT to make the tail impossible to get it correct.
I changed with V1 and it fits perfectly.

I think you misread my post. I don't have any problems streaming Finless Bob's videos. I was telling the OP that the problem must be with his system because streaming works fine for me. Also, I'm using Firefox.

That's very strange... i've since sold my V2 but i'm sure mine were the same..
Also - align does not list different output shafts for Pro and V2 as far as i'm aware ?

also shorter would make it worse - if anything, I'd assume they would make the V2 ones longer by a few mm or so..

Yea, I found that very strange too, but happened.I forgot to take a shot of the different lenght.I inspected all the spare shaft I have and none were shorter so I assume I was just unlucky with that kit.

If you build the tail as per manual and you get +/- 7 degree pitch, you don't need the mod. The mod is to add more pitch to the blade with bellcrank at 90 degree.

I built the tail as per manual and its holding fine however there is an awful lot of slop in the tail slider assembly. .
The slider bush that runs on the shaft seems to be defective as the inner sleeve moves around inside the bearing. Ive changed the slider for the one off my sport and its a little better but still quite sloppy. Everything is tight and done correctly so i can only presume its just how they are, i think ill get the kde tail assembly as im not really happy with this much slop.

Any one else had this problem?

I had the same issue during the build and I thought it would be ok as I could not find any parts defective. However, on the maiden, suddenly the tail did not respond to ant rudder moves.Managed to land safely, and inspected the tail rotor.Found out that the sleeve on the tail pitch slider came totally off (unscrewed).I just applied some locktite and put it back.now everything on the tail block is super tight, no slop anywhere.
Btw, as suggested from another member here in the forum, remove the bearing on the tail grips hub and apply locktite (be carefull not to let the liquid into the bearing or you will have to replace them!!!).I found myself that where bit loosed inside the hub.
hope this help.

So the Sleeve screws in? I'll take another look at it and see if i can fix it. The main source of slop seems to be in the plastic tube on the bell crank that goes over the little ball on the slider. Again today the weather is terrible so I've plenty time to take a look at it.

I so wanna fly this thing!!
