750MX motor timing
Hi All,
Test hopped my 800 conversion yesterday and WOW! Great! The only thing I wasn't really happy with was that I didn't seem to be able to get much out of the motor. I tried to give it a workout, but couldn't generate any heat real in motor (only got to maybe 90 F), batteries (Gens - stayed cool), or ESC (HW 120HV). It powered the heli nicely, but did bog alittle at full pitch and didn't seem to be working up to potential. So what motor timing are y'all running? I get to choose 3.75, 7.5, etc up to 30 degrees. I was at 7.5 yesterday and now think that was too low. Any feedback? Thanks, Scott

The motor I'm using is the 750MX 450KV.
I tried 3, 5, 7, 10 and settled on 5, the default, along with a PWM rate of 8khz. Motor temp is around 125°. Current limiting is set to insensitive, and governor gain is set to 17. I get an occasional chirp but the tail is good. I'm getting 5 minutes of flight using about 75% of the batteries.

The thing that keeps raising it's head is the difference in implementation between the ESCs.
To me, CC settings and HW settings (timing especially) do not appear to map at all. Example - I ran KDE motors on CC 120 and had a totally different experience than on the HW 120. They heated up at different times under different settings. I am told that YGE is different yet. I know, it's probably all supposed to be the same across the brands... I'm going to grab my computer and go out testing with my Xeras once the monsoon lets up!
