i got me heli back together, now have b400 tail blades on it and it flies fine. the blades look identical. the only difference i can see is the b400 have a "3" moulded into them, the b450 have a "2".

I spent most the afternoon last saturday also at the local HS on their computer cross referencing parts with them. I forgot to check the gears. Can the gear set be exchanged and introduced into the B400? I know the Main shaft and collars from the B400 should work in the 450 if you hate pre collared shafts as much as me. I have had issues with them in different models in the past. If I cannot do a roll test on them or repair them it is a fail for me. This question just came up in the B400 threads and I didn't have the answer.

horizon hobbies list the aluminum tail drive gear pulley assembly as blh1655a.

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=BLH1655A

i put one in my 450. the oem gear is nylon and two piece. one of the flanges separated from the teeth of the gear and the belt was only riding on half the gear, causing gear wear. the aluminum is one piece.

i think the only difference between the part numbers for the 450 and the 400 is the blh1655a comes with the brass spacer, but i'm not sure.

Just got the feathering shaft/spindle for the Blade 400 in the mail instead of for the 450.

Do you think this part is interchangeable?

Thanks!

Mmm, i know the blade grip design is different, unsure on the actual feathering shaft.. if they are same length /diameter, should be ok.

Default skids

Would the skids from the 400 work on the 450? i like the 2 piece skids better, and i would like to get a set like them, but i don't want the TREX 500 skids that are oversized on it.

SPindles/feathering shafts are different.

Skids from 400 will fit on the 450... You may have to drill some new mounting holes but they'll work just fine...

Default Tail and hor fin?

Does anyone know if the tail fin and horizontal stab for the 400 will fit on a 450? I would like to replace white with brighter more visible parts. I can only find upgrades for the 400, will they fit the 450?

Doubtful as the tail boom is bigger, thus possibly making the holes larger.

Check out Fusuno, they have bright colored tail fins.

What about the landing gear? Is it possible to mod the B400 to fit the B450 or do they match up without any trouble?
