You're gonna love the FBL after you get it dialed in!

Finally learning piroflips, and I just love my plastic Protos w/ Vbar; it's the first heli out of the car every time. What a sweet-flying machine!

The 2nd heli is my TRex 550E (vbar), which I really don't like much at all.

The 3rd and final heli is a Logo 600 w/ all the goodies, and it takes the Protos love to the next level.

I'm really getting used to all that pitch and power which at first I was not at all comfortable with.

My usual day off flying spot(soccer fields) is not as big as I thought it was. Perfect for my 450 heli, but a bit cramped for the Protos. No problem though.. Big sky it!! Just fly higher over the trees that surround the fields!! lol Love it!!!

The green canopy has great visibility in the cloudy skies. Was doing loops and super duper fast dives today and even attempted some Tic Tocs which were not that pretty at all.

The more I fly my protos the more I love it!!!

20-25 mph winds with 40mph gusts. Didn't do anything with my Protos today.

Has anyone ever flown in these conditions? How did that go?

Yep, no problems to fly but it's not that enjoyable. It's looking like similar weather today and as we have a club meeting at the feild I will be flying.

Cool

I took my Protos for its maiden flight today! I flew three packs, and it was amazing. I had it set up pretty well from the off, only a touch of forward trim needed even though my CG is spot on. My quark seemed perfectly happy with the random gain value I started with
It goes like a scalded cat, looks like a spaceship and sounds fantastic

I drove home smiling and looking forward to the weekend

Go FBL, the Protos gets to a new level of sublimeness with that addition.
Today I oiled my Scorpion, replaced my belt (I hate doing that job), replaced the idler pulley near the pinion and generally checked over everything. I think I have around 600 flights on this bird now over the past two years of owning it.

I charged batteries. Went to the field with under an hour of light and both my batteries were dead from yesterday. Cant believe i forgot to charge. I have had my protos for few weeks and i have about 50 flights on it. Love it. Ordered two more packs for it to avoid days like today. Lol

I received 3 more of the Gens Ace 2500mah batteries and got one with a bad cell again. This is the second time I've got a shipment of these batteries with a bad one. No big deal.. for the price I expect this. Filed an RMA, I'll have a replacement in about 2 weeks.

I did my first piroflips on the Protos today . It has a lot of power, so I'm gonna need to be smoother with collective.

Finally the FBL gyro is tuned to my liking, the Protos flies awesome. I flew 2 packs to the limit of my ability, trying to make the tail blow out. It didn't. Even in a tail first freefall with 0-pitch from an altitude where the Protos looked like a black dot. Yey!

Also did my first planned auto with the Protos today. That did not go so well... Flared too early and dumped it flat from about 2 feet. No damage, but not worthy of the Protos elegance.

Busted out of work and and got in 5 flights over lunch at a big empty field.

Protos is super sweet... I had some issues last time out; was either a tail vibe (replaced w/ the thrusted tail) or that I'd bumped the aileron trim switch.

It was windy, so I didn't get too brave... did a couple sloppy piroflips, but mostly high speed downwind runs. Would have been a better day for the Logo 600, but was sweet.

Did I mention weather was in the 70's today in norcal?

Protos Irie-I.

I got my Radix FBL blades and neon orange fins yesterday.
The Radix(430mm) blades are actually a tiny bit shorter than the stock SAB(425mm) blades.

I loaded it it the car so maybe I can sneak in a few hovers at work and take it for a real flight after work. It's supposed to be mostly sunny and 82F today.

Is that Bug Juice on the Blades?

Really?

Nah, no bug juice yet. They are brand new Radix. It could be the reflection off of them that you are seeing. In about a month or so, you will be seeing lots of bug juice on the blades.

When is your Protos arriving? what's your setup going to be?
