Wow! Check out the new iCharger. Fourty amps and 1400 Watts per channel. I'll never need another charger.

I just did the math and it will require 44v to get it's full power output of 2800watts. My charger case with two Dell PowerEdge 900watt PS's is heavy enough. I cant imagine needing two more. Not to mention two dedicated 110v circuits to run the four power supplies, or a pair of 2000 watt gennys.

The more I think about it the less I like it. If I lived at an R/C country club maybe, or if I had a site on my own property, but I would not use this as a portable. They should have done a 4010 single at half the price.

If they keep with past practices, they'll release a 406DUO sometime next year.

It is supposed to be out 12/1.
We will see.
They have been testing it for about a year so it should be ready.

you could possible operate this unit on a 24-30v supply using 2x the amperage and still get peak performance if the unit is setup to handle it that way

I know on my pl-8 I can run 1 13.9v 100amp supply and charge 6 6s batteries just like I do with the 24v supply but the fan on the charger runs all the time because it pulling the amperage needed to do it. Not recommend to run that way but it does

its a beast but I like it. thing is you could just about buy 2 pl-6 chargers and do the same thing on 24v for what that costs. Did anyone thing about that

But it does up to a 10s sell, very nice

But it isnt, Specs say max 65A input current so a 30V supply nets you less than 1950W output.

The PL8 is input limited to 60AMPS.
That will only give you 834WATTS out.

Most all high output chargers will only give you 1/2 output when powered with 12V.

Anyone have anything new about this charger?

Looks like the arrival date on ProgressiveRC has been moved back to 12/10.

The only thing new is they have been actively working on the firmware and the chargers should be here any day now

This is interesting, it has a servo tester built in, I had not read about that before.
